More height more bud

hey, i've being told that the taller a plant the more it will yield, is this true?

It really depends on what lights, nutrients, and strain you're using (there are many more factors but those are some main ones)

With more height it means the lower buds are farther away from your light, as light decreases with distance.

If you have some powerful lights or good side lighting you can get some great yields with taller plants.

In general though a taller plant will have more budsites, so it will yield more bud. Obviously a 6 foot plant will harvest much more crop than a 2 footer.

I'm only on my first grow (closet grow, cfl, bag seed) and they're turning out very dank. I feel I've learned a vast amount of info, much more than I would know just from what I've grown so far anyway.

I grow outdoors and find yield is improved if I tie the girls down. Every branch makes like the main cola.

taller plants will yield more but only if u have sufficent light, if u veg a plant to 6ft and then put it into flowering with just 1 light abot the plant, u will yield less then a 3ft plant, becasue no light is getting to the lower branches or bud sites, so alot of the plants energy is concentrated into keeping the lower stuff alive. unless u trim away all the lower brancehs. IMO a 6ft plant with 3ft of lower branches will yield more then a just a 3ft plant, even though they have the same ammount of leaves, becasue the 6ft one has a bigger root system caz it was vegged longer and the branches are bigger and thicker.

Yeah tying them down will give you some killer buds.
It creates a horizontal plane for your main stem so the side branches become colas and grow vertical like this _|_|_|_ lol
if anyone doesn't get that, the "_"s are the main stem, the "|"s are the branches....just for the OP to know obviously lots of you guys already know alll about that.

good way to increase the yield is to tie down the branches everywhere receives more light and try crimping to shorten internodes and increase the bottom growth without having to top the plant all work well then the plant will be stockier not just tall might take bit longer to grow with crimping
