Mold

I'm growing 1 white widow and 1 urban poison. Both have similar flower time of 8-9 weeks I'm 9 weeks in and really just waiting for 25% amber (mostly cloudy now no amber) anyway I found the UP had a cola with white mold I promptly cut that branch out I cant find any more right now.

Should I continue to try to mature the plants or harvest immediately? I'm thinking it's safer to harvest.

You can mature them further but try to keep humidity down.Keep a sharp eye as they bulk up the more vunerable to mold.Definately harvest the plant if continued problem.

btw breeder harvest dates are not always accurate.

my personal opinion, if they are anywhere near ready and mold is spotted, they get chopped.

there could be lurking mold unseen. i take no chances with mold.

So I've made the choice to chop tonight. Any thoughts on how infected the rest of buds might, that is, have I lost the harvest and smoking would be dangerous? I'm of the mind that once mold is found it is everywhere can a mold outbreak be localized to one cola?

just dissect cola.cut out any mold, and wipe down cutting utensil with rubbing alcohol as not too spread onto healthy bud.

I put budrot scrap in the freezer, and made cannaoil out of it later on with no ill effects.

Turn off fans when when removing.Thicker colas are more prone to mold on less mold resistant strains.
Indoors I blame myself for not keeping up with enviroment.

No one knows how much mold is safe. You pretty much treat it like when you find mold on your meat or bread. Some people cut off the moldy parts and consume the rest, while others throw out the entire batch. It's even harder when you've spent a few hundred dollars and a year's time growing a plant and not being able to harvest it because of a tiny bit of mold.

If your growing for yourself, you can take on a bigger risk. If your growing and selling, your risking your reputation and future sales. And if your selling legally to dispensaries or if your a dispensary selling to the public, you also risk lawsuits.

This I kind of my dilemma, my primary reason for growing is personal use but I do sell the overage. Last night when I went to cut the plant I did an exhaustive search (sterilizing my microscope between colas) and could find no other signs of mold so I made the choice to not cut. This may be my undoing but think these extra days are worth it. I have decide though that Saturday will be the final day not matter what.

I guess my concern now is even if I make to Saturday with no more outbreaks will it still be there on the plant. I know this is not a question that can be answered but thanks for reading.

A thought occurs do you all think that curing may reveal any further spores, the bud will be spending time in the jars getting all humid perhaps this will be a good last place to look as a quality check?
