Mold!! How bad is it?

I cut 1 of my plants down tonight because I suspected I had mold. I was right! All of the side branches were OK the problem is the cola. When I started trimming it the bottom set of buds on it were pretty brown and they were dry, and just fell off. The buds above those have more of a white mold in them not nearly as bad though. The further up I went the less there was. About half way up I didn't find any more.

Do you think the top part is ok? I don't want throw it out if it's ok..:-?

I'll get some pics and be back in 5!!:peace:

The 1st 4 pics are of what I hope I can save. I don't see any mold on them.

The 2nd 3 pics are of the moldy stuff that I found.

Please tell me if I should save it.:peace:

Yes, unfortunately it has been my experience that inspection is essential because mold starts from the inside. Insidious little bugger. There are organic fungicides out there which may help.

As for the top part of the cola, mold spores are probably all over your plant by now. I think you can still try, but keep a very sharp eye on it. Mold can move quickly.

Thanks CJ!! I'll definitely keep an eye on it. I double check it again and threw out anything that looked like it might of had mold. I hope I don't loose it all.

Would it be a good idea to spray the remaining plants/room with a fungicide?

I have purchased an organic fungicide and so far have not had to use it. I know it will come as it always does in my area each year. I'm itching to try it out on the first one. I may just go ahead and spray one now and see if that helps it through the rest of the grow. I'll let you know what happens.... :peace:

 that was funny! yes use a fungicide on at least one and see.

I am an Engineer. That is a old drafting table I got from work when we went to a CAD system about 15 years ago. I even got the arm and everything that goes with it. I don't use it a lot but it's nice to have.:peace:

Thought I would update anybody who cares.:joint:

It's been 2 days, and I haven't found any mold on anything I kept. I'm making sure there's good air movement. Thought it would help.:peace:

Eh..:? Scary thought that isn't very healthy. Good for you to bad for the guy who bought it.

I recently ran into mold in the last week. I mixed hydrogen peroxide and ph'd water together in spray bottle and gave em a good spraying once a day with lights off. It didn't get rid of the mold completely but it did slow it down enough to let me finish the plants properly. It's not the best solution but it is natural and buys time soo you dont have to pull early.

Don't be afraid to tear into those buds and check often. Prevention/early detection is key.

Did you trash the bud attached to the moldy part? It tastes awful if you smoke it (and it probably isn't good for you), but you can make some butane hash with it.
