the most significant difference between the two is sugar content which is much higher in treacle.

in the uk black strap molasses isn't broadly available and as a consequence i have been using lyles black treacle and heres why.

inositol is a component of phosphorous (we all know why we need this) and is found in black treacle at a ratio of around 6,000 mg per kilo
pyridoxine 5mg per kilo (promotes root developement)
we also get
biotin
choline
pantothenic acid
riboflavin
thiamine
all in trace ammounts

minerals

copper 36mg per kg
iron 249mg per kg
manganese 35mg per kg
zinc 13mg per kg

i give this all the way through my grow at half a teaspoon per 4 pint milk carton lol so 2.5ml per 2 litres roughly (i know its 2.2 litres).

my buds always taste amazing, i grow in soil with a 1000w hps and my last grow netted me 700gram DRIED in a 1.2 meter tent with afghan x hidu kush f1 seeds.
i belive that organic nutes , seaweed and black treacle are the reason it smokes so smooth and tastes so sweet and clean.
thought i would share this with you guys

if you've any left over get the mrs to make gypsy tart ;D

and no i didn't paste this from another site

peace out

yeah i got fed up seeing it knowing i couldn't get any, so i did a bit of research.... in the states cane molasses isn't sweet and the closest alternative is the good old black treacle from lyles, its a good stress reliever too , i never use superthrive etc just black syrup and seaweed extract and i've not lost a plant to stress yet

Do those type "flavors" really do what they say like molasses, cotton candy (advanced Nutrients) + other flavor changer's - seems it takes away from the natural taste of your strain - if you have to add sweet-ners why grow the strain - find one that you like and make it easy for your self.

Shit my apologies..
(Never) noticed it doing so

I use it as a chelating agent, and source of energy plus it has alot of good nutes in it. I dont use it on all my plants though. Some of my sativas are just hungrier for like mag.
Anyway. Nothing you put in your soil will really affect flavor, you can sort of increase terps and cannabinoids but with most strains it doesnt alter the profile..

I started using it when i first used a tent (i had 16 plants in a 1.2m ...lol u live and learn) they were getting too hot so i looked up stress relief for them and was told that if i mixed seaweed extract with molasses it is similar to superthrive so i did so and it worked well, two of my pals are grew the same weed with the same biobizz nutes in a slightly larger tent and i cut and dried both lots..his tasted wicked but my buds were plumper and tasted far better with a more even burn, only difference was my potting mix was from asda and theirs was the biobizz allmix and i gave seaweed/molasses where they didn't have the heat issue they never used molasses.
however ! i will admit that mine was flushed for 12 days then 2 days in total darkness without water immediately before i chopped em
