Molasses+Tiger Bloom=Smells like straight PUKE?

Hey so Ive been mixing 1/2 Tblsp of Grandma's Molasses with 2 tsp per gallon for everyday/every other day feedings. The Girls are doing awesome but after a couple days, whats left of the gallon starts to smell legitimately like puke. There is also a nasty foam on top of the solution.

Is it bad for my ladies to use this terrible smelling sollution or can I continue to use it when it "goes bad"?

I am also using just water+molasses to flush out my LowRyder, but that solution doesnt go bad unless it sits for alot longer.

i dont think most of nutes smell that great but i wouldnt worry bout that. i mix the same shit n have had NO problems

Im not talking about a slightly unpleasent smell, its literally hard to breathe in my grow room because it smells like someone yakked all over my plants after I water.

Anybody else??

i'd only mix what you need for each watering, or aerate the solution

until recently i used to let my nute solution sit out .. until the though of bugs n dust and shit growing in it came

If it has been exposed to warm temperatures you probably have colonies of bacteria growing in your nutrient solution. The smell and froth that you have on top are the end waste products from different metabolic pathways by and anarobic bacteria and or yeasts. If you test the pH of your solution it has probably dropped significantly.

Try to keep the solution fresh by not making such big batches. I know its more work but you dont want to make your plants unhappy. Same thing happened to me.

Yes, microorganisms are everywhere... the molasses (glucose+ fructose) is fed upon by bacteria = exponential growth in numbers.

All i'm saying is check the ph of your solution to make sure it is in the right range. The end products of the fermentation will acidify your solution.

I diluted mine with tap water and the plants appeared to have liked it.

Alright so if I add a half gallon of pure water to the half gallon of nasty nutes, it will bring the pH up to acceptable levels?

Well it wouldn hurt to just dump it and start over. The largest volume I make is only 2 gallons (4L). You would only be using about 20ml of tiger bloom and 2 tsp of molasses. Make sure the pH is correct. I'm not a soil grower but I believe the target Ph for soil fertilizer solutions is 7.0?

i have to correct you here, 2 gallons is actually 9 litres not 4. a gallon is 4.5 litres alone

1 gallon us = 3.785 liters or
1 gallon (British Imperial) = 4.546 liter or 1.201 U.S. gallons

I also use FF nutes with grandmas molasses, all I can tell you is don't premix your nutes mine have never smelled like yakk.

The molasses shuld always be added RIGHT before watering, otherwise airborn yeast will ferment it in the container while it sits, may even build up co2 and some pressure.

what u smell is the fermentation but we aint brewin beer, so...
