the yellow bars are just extruded aluminum heatsinks (super dirty! )... the yellow coating is plastic film that was probably supposed to be peeled off before the modules were attached to the heatsink (unless it's some sort of thermal material?..) I honestly think whoever assembled this one at the factory just forgot to peel the plastic off ..
but... for now I have to go do some work in the garden.. I'll mess with this some more later today hopefully if I get some time.. in the meantime, here's some freshly jarred gsc forum cut to keep things interesting
I have an Apollo 20 Blrurple from 2017. Removed 5 of the 10 drivers and and half of the fans too. Re-wired everything in parallel which took for ever. The light went from 720W to 350W. Strange the light looks as bright as before.
I was given 2 vipar 1200 (520w.) lights I'm vegging with one & the other I'm gonna hack to build another light with mean well drivers & luminus cobs I'll have to study your thread closer but I'm making a 400w. cob led for around $220 using existing heatsink , plugs etc
