I will let ya know when it comes time to repot and i can see the roots along the edges / see how easy it is to repot. So far no complaints though and they do save space over hard pots since they can semi mold into your available room. I am currently messing around with soil for the first time so I'm hoping my hot mix will sustain with no additional feeding but my current guess is I made it to hot and it will roast my girls. That being said I'm going to repot 3 testers at varying strengths mixes of my 2 soils when it it's time to see, then tone it down if need be.

I used them quite a few grows ago... when i squeeze and flip my plastics the mix and plant come out smoothly... the cloth... not so much... i use them now for soil and drainage dividers in my terrariums. But i did like the medium would dry out quiker for, more feedings and better overall health of the soil being to be able to breath better... just when i wanna give a plant hour or two before watering the cloth pots def dry lil too quik

You can roll the Smart Pots (aka Eco Pots) or cloth pots down the soil like taking a condom off lol. Less stress for the roots and easier in my opinion. If you wait a couple days after you watered it also makes it a bit easier and harder to rip a chunk of soil apart and roots go with it when it's too wet.

Hell yeah I will try the roll down method here in a month or so and tell ya how it goes. As far as letting it be dry before transfer it has another added benefit as well when its transferred into moist soil it encourages the roots to migrate faster when they are coming from drier soil, so faster turn around time and less shock win win.

Some say that taking some of the roots away helps increase growth. I belive thats for photoperiod plants and not our autos.

I did take a HUGE chunk out of one of my Fast & Vast and all 3 are doing fine in my opinion. I've read of a guy even removeing/cutting about a inch or so I belive from the bottom of the smart pot and transplant the whole thing as is! Allowing the roots to continue growing into the new pot.

If you can transplant when the roots are just about to start engulfing the soil and make its way through the smart is when I felt like I transplanted. Soil stays together and none of my plants are stunted/shocked.

-I have read a little about root trimming, how ever i was under the ( un-researched ) opinion that since the smart pots keep the roots at the edge nicely " trimmed" that it was already kind of doing this. That being said I have 0 evidence to back that up.

From what I've seen a glimpse of the roots going through is when there is no room to breathe or they are trying to go for water maybe? I didnt have this problem as I had all mine on milk crates to allow air all over the pot. Which another good practice I found was to loosen the edge of the smart by kinda running my hand around the pot loosening the soil before I roll the pot off. Helps gently remove the grasp the roots have with the pot I experienced.

There shouldn't be any roots on the edge if air was getting to the edge. But I still have photos of the plants roots trying to get through the pot ...I think I have them still at least. But I've seen roots go through smart lots. There is a thread I've read online that shows why the guy refuses to use them anymore.

1( weird thin leaf pheno ) 25 days old from sprouting, topped at 20 days, and shes completely tied down. She still shows signs of weird leaf growth missing some sections entirely, oddly sized ect, However she grows / stretches very fast so its tempting to keep her for a vertical grow mom good choice on keeping her so far. I hope she produces well :bigjoint:

Humidity / Temp is surprisingly well controlled with cooking the soil inside tent

What is going to hold up your scrog? How are co2 lines used? I know what CO2 is used for but how do you use some line?

Can I just say wow you are correct on the temps being dialed in!

-Scrog net will be suspended from eye hooks in the corners connected to the same ratchet hangers i use for lights. This makes it easier to angle / raise them ect.

-"CO2 lines" are the plastic tubes that i punctured holes in directly connected to the 20lb CO2 tank regulator. I am weaving it into the scrog net so when i turn the regulator on it will deliver the gas directly to the foliage. Since my room is not hermetically sealed i figured getting the co2 as close to the foliage as possible would have the best results. I definitely need to trial and error the right CO2 flow rate / room exhaust rate, but that's half the fun.

-In terms of the temp / humidity I couldn't be happier considering this is in a basement in the middle of winter. Using the tent to cook the soil has definitely had unintended positive results, at least in these colder months. :bigjoint:

I like the idea of the co2 lines as close to the plants as possible. That's pretty trick.

Hey Brian I appreciate the plants, the leaves seem to have contorted a little after I put them in my quarantine room under a 1000w hps but definetly healthy plants. I'm gonna veg em out till they show sex and then be cutting 3 of each plant to flower under a scrog. I'll send some photos as they begin to flower. What kind of phenos are you looking for?

I actually will be putting the 2 you gave me into a 4,000w DE no scrog room after they show me what they are and flowering those out and saving a few cuttings as mother plants and a few cuts of each to go under a scrog in my 8k se room. It'll be a minute to get them under the scrog, I'll be vegging for 2 months with a lot of super cropping and lst.

They were both from feminized seeds, so here's hoping they are females. In terms if the curling they were both on the tail end recovering from the first topping and had been under 24/7 LEDs. So the change in lighting could have played a roll but I'm sure they will adjust quickly.

How do you like those DE lamps? I have been reading nothing but praises so far.

Definitely keep me updated with pictures and it sounds like we have the same veg time planned out, so this should be fun exchanging photos. If anything I have comes out exceptional I will toss you some cuttings. One of my orange buds continues to smell like a disemboweled skunk while still vegging, I can only imagine what she will do In flower. I also have a blue god ( blue berry x god Bud ) that I am bringing back to life that you might like.
