MMJ first timer - help getting the right strains for back related nerve pain

Greetings all,
I have been browsing the forums for some time, and it appears to be a great community. I have read through many threads, some helped me get answers but i still have a few that i would like to stick out there.

Like many when i was young I had used MJ recreationally, but now i am looking to it for pure medicinal reasons. I have completed my paper work and received state approval for my certification so I'm beginning to dive into this wonderfully complex world.

I am not sure how common this is, but i am actually not too interested in 'getting high'. I'm looking for strains that will help me reduce the amount of pain pills I take. Currently I do not take a lot, but have been taking them for a while. Personal control has kept me from getting to the point where i take tons of them. For example my Vicodin i still never take more than 3 or 4 in a 24 hours period. At this point my tolerance for the pain medications has made then no longer very helpful. So instead of taking more and more im turning to MMJ as an alternative or supplement to reduce my dependence on the narcotics pain meds. Since I can't use MMJ everywhere I will still have to depend on pills to and extend but im trying to reduce this.

Now to my questions.. i suffer from severe back and nerve pain in my hips, both legs and both arms due to several issues so far surgery has not fix my issues but has improved my overall condition. What i am trying to do is find the right strains to cultivate that will help me with my pain management (i will also be 'care giving' for a friend with very similar medical issues). My thought was to focus on two types.
One that can be use during the day time that will provide Vicodin (10/xxx) like pain relief but allow me to stay functional throughout the day and a second strain that will also provide good pain relief but would be for bed to help me fall asleep. As stated I'm most interested in getting pain relief, more than 'getting high', but i do understand that the head and body effects are part of it. Hopefully what im saying makes sense. :)

Right now i have got my choices down tot he following based on my research so far, with one exception i will be attemtping to aquire these as seeds through online vendors.

Day Time
Jack Herer
Blueberry (hoping to get clones from friend)

Night Time
Kush (unsure which variant)
Northern Lights #5
White widow

Other To Research More
Bubblelicious
White Castle (alt to White Widow)
Chrystal (Alt to White Widow)
Papaya

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I would welcome your input

i think a high cbd strain would be perfect for you..
some have low thc levels and you don't really get high off them...
can you get clones? imo they are easier to work with
check out "Harlequin" or research high cbd strains....
white widow is a great bed time med...
also querkle or purples...
