Did you need your badge to begin work while you waited a month for your badge?
I didnt, but that was 2 years ago and they were more linient(they didnt and still dont have the staff to regulate it all). The company that hired me has since changed their policy to require before start date.

DD: I was skeptical too. I am kinda happy to know for sure that its not just my application. I was waiting for a knock on the door from the feds or something.

I hope you didnt come out here to get rich in MMJ, unless you are a GM, head grower or an owner you arent gonna make dick for money. The non pot smoking owners and gm's treat smokers like absolute trash in front and behind their backs, and their pay-scale says it all.
Thanks for you concern dro. I've been in good old CO. For 12 years. Had a job to make me rich, hated it and quit. Now I'm looking to pay my bills and work with something medically beneficial. Hopefully it will suck a little less. If not oh well bit i would be remiss not to try. Your profile says i should talk to you if im interested in makin money. Care to elaborate?..

Sounds about the same, former sales firm owner and business consultant, absolutely hated the pressure and lifestyle. I am going to enjoy working front of house for awhile and hopefully work my way up into business development within their corporate office once the industry grows. I made this choice not for the money, but the enjoyment of working with something I take passion and interest in. Plus where I work is just down the street and can ride a bike to avoid driving, all in all happy with it all haha.

HAHA that is more for an entrepreneur looking to start something up and has no mmj experience, but has business experience. I have been burned out of the 2 grows that I have run already, it took about a year each. I am not a professional grower anymore, too stressful and the people dominating the industry SUCK.

Heck ya. If I can get in this place, its only 20 min away on back roads. No i25 or 36!!! Mine would still be food production so maybe not quite as cathartic as bud tending, but still an expanding company working to make healthier medication available. The first time in my life I'm going into a field I choose rather than the one I can earn the most

Are you working with in the field at all anymore?

IMO stick with the front end operations bro, grow, hash and trim crews are torturous, even for the head grower in most environments.

I grow at home for FUN, something i lost coming out here. Doing the CSC degree I put off for a decade, screwing around lol. My wife manages a local infused product company and I just grow a little personal and give out my unbiased candid knowledge for free on this site, when i cant focus on my schoolwork!

Ya I have been considering tending trimming or MIP. Went MIP first cause I have non medicated production experience. Other than trimming on a non commercial scale, and knowledge of strains I don't have any commercial mmj experience. I'm hoping to learn about growing, extractions and the laws from said position and gain some experience and go from there. But my interview was a month ago and still no badge. The owner has been very understanding. But I'm sure he can't wait forever

the MIP chef is also an intriguing job choice, they have a decent amount of fun still and get to "lay down the laws" for the owners and gm!

I'm hoping something like that. Not exactly chef more of a machinery and facility specialist. The company has been very small since the start and have had virtually the same employees since then. The owner seems great and down to earth. It is a place I would want to be if it were a non infused factory, but it is. The pay is OK to start with room to improve. As I had said I hope to gain more in knowledge than money. Few years of that then iI'll figure out how to squeeze out a Mercedes from the industry...

Hey DD nothing as of yet. god that blows
Eh, I just keep letting my employer know the situation and to stay in contact with them, even emailed them today to ask them if I could start by doing some SEO Content Management for them in the time being.

That a lot of equipment you got for brewing haha. Should swap some growlers of brews this spring, my buddies have some amazing new ones in creation, although their new Smoked Poblano something was not my fave, but most have been spot on amazing. I'll let ya know when some new ones get tapped, should also be around the time that my harvest / cure happens, so double trouble haha.

been thinking an infused beer . maybe a limited run 3 gal or so with some bubba kush trim or maybe wait till the durbin harvest not set yet

So on Reddit today, someone responded to my question on the COrents ::

"I went in on the 25th of February and I got my card in the mail on the 1st of March, that same Saturday."

Think if you went in on the week Feb. 16th - 21st you got lumped into that situation of the computer system change over and thus causing the lengthy delays. But who knows. Just an update.

After I finally receive my badge, I am going to write a full out status and process of getting this report, since there isn't much talk online beyond the MMED site.

Thanks DD. I thought that may have been the situation. I consedered going in with a new app. And would prob already have a badge. Lol but decided would only complicate things farther. I'll post if and when I finally get my badge

Finally got it this evening, starting work tomorrow morning. So 16 business days total, not to bad. Still going to write a thread on here when I get a chance about the process and experience for newcomers to get an idea and hopefully ease some questions or concerns.

R&R I was wondering, not for a high, but could you dry hop buds in a brew strictly for flavor? We have been talking about experimenting this spring with different ideas. Bacon being one of the ideas haha.

yes buds will make for a very good dry hop if they are stinky, not much if any thc will make it that way

bacon!!!!! well it is a real bitch to use as the oils kill head retention. maybe fake bacon flavoring?

Molecular gastronomy ingredients, make bacon powder with zero fats. LOL f if I could explain it, my buddy is an amazing chef. Seriously should swamp some brews next month.

Yeah that's what I was thinking just for flavor. My Indica is potent smelling, from the herm plant I chopped we made butter and candies and they floor you. So that was a young plant, I can only imagine what the grow ones will be like.
