Mixing LED/HPS Light Spectrum

Has anybody ever mixed LED & HPS light spectrum's during a grow???

You hear so much about both; how one tops the other as far as results, and the benefits that each spectrum produces.

So I wondered what benefits and results would both of the spectrum's combined produce???

I'm seriously considering trying this little experiment out...:fire:
 
Yes. The area with the added LEDs were slightly frostier. Enough that I could see a difference. But I mixed the bud all up during harvest, so couldn't say if results were better.

Was the side that was using the mixed spectrum result in more density or just frostier???
 
Yeah I do. I RUN a 1000w dual arc mh/hps with 2 all red (630, 660) 90w boosters. The the last week of flower i use a finishing bulb of 10000k. I refuse anything less now.
 
Let me know how that experiment goes. I'm waiting on my first led light now and plan to add it with a 400 cmh later on down the line.
 
I added 1000W Red HPS to my two 350W DS XMLs in flower to help keep the room warm in the winter as well as spread more light in the area when my plants grew a little too big for what I was initially planning. But it works out good so I think next grow I would incorporate both (maybe even some side CFLs as well :-P ) - who said you have to choose lighting style? The more the better.

I agree, the more the merrier...

I already have 2 54w T5's in my current setup along with the HPS. I most like likely will still keep the T5's running whe I add the LED...

Nice setup in ur pic... How big is that tent ur using???
