TUCSON - The trial of a Tucson attorney accused of operating a marijuana stash house has ended in a hung jury.

Jurors in Ronald Jeffrey Washington's case were unable to reach a unanimous decision Friday, forcing Pima County Superior Court Judge Deborah Bernini to declare the mistrial.

Prosecutors said they intend to try Washington again.

Washington, a criminal-defense attorney, was indicted last September on one count each of possession of marijuana for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arrested last August after Tucson police officers responding to a burglary alarm at his house found loose remnants of marijuana, a large amount of plastic packing material and an empty box for a digital scale inside the house.

The packing materials were marked with weights and detectives determined the materials had once contained more than 150 pounds of marijuana, according to police.

Authorities suspect Washington had been storing marijuana at his home.
