Miracle Grow Users Are The Dumbest Growers Ever!

“Miracle-Gro Soil is Fine for Growing Marijuana.. Not"

Many of us have grown up seeing Miracle-Gro being used in our homes,

so we know that it works for ‘regular houseplants’.

Cannabis is just a tough weed, so Miracle-Gro should be great for it, right?

Not really.. say the guys at GrowWeedEasy

The issue with the standard Miracle-Gro nutrient formula is that it’s one formula

for the entirety of the plants life cycle. Even if Miracle-Gro soil is okay for the beginning

of your plant's life, it may not be as good in the flowering stage.

The ratio of nutrients your plants need changes drastically between seedling and

full flower, and marijuana needs a nutrient system to accommodate

for those changing nutrient needs.

The original soil blend by Miracle-Gro has poor drainage and its slow-release

Nitrogen can harm your cannabis plants and reduce yields in the flowering stage.

Many growers find it has poor drainage and water-holding capability

compared to better soil. But the main problem is that the standard Miracle-Gro soil

contains "time-released" nutrients which contain high levels of Nitrogen.

As a result, you may notice that your leaves in the flowering stage unexpectedly

get nutrient burn or nitrogen toxicities out of nowhere,

and can lead to an unpleasant or chemical taste in your buds.

The low levels of Potassium and Phosphorus means your buds

may not grow as big as they could have

Well duh. Cannabis growers are growing a one of a kind unique plant that requires 10+ specialty nutrients, carbs and any other product that has a trendy label with buds and fan leaves drawn on it. Your soil must also be no less than $25 per cubic foot with 100000+ watts minimum per plant or you wont get any buds at all.

t. cannabis grower.

Not that bad. $25 per cubic yard. :cuss: You got the rest right though.

And seriously, stay away from potting mixes that have a time released formula.

My yield went up drastically with the plant growth when I switched to using only a grow base nute in flower. I just taper the strength down as the plant ripens and needs less.

The key is not so much which fertilizer you use but that you use it correctly for the plants you are growing. And that it is complete and complimentary to your chosen medium and source water.

And I wonder if with good gardening practices and no over watering if you can make even the slow release original mirical Grow work well?

Not to keen on trying it though. Lol. But I bet Growers have made it work plenty.

Indeed a buddy collected 100+ salt added nute tabs from a product similar

he was able to dissolve the added nutes in a jar of warm water with a good shake

it freaked me out...they should list the contents of the added nute tabs

disgusting!

I have seen many hot pepper growers do just fine with miracle gro soil, and many hot peppers are objectively more difficult than 95% of cannabis strains but cannabis is the hardest plant to grow in the world. I think with proper practices and possibly some amendments here and there it would grow fine terrible. You could literally do this with a miracle grow flower fertilizer as well. I would test it if I didn't have my tents packed with hydro.

A seasoned soil grower could probably yield something decent nothing for a total cost of $15 or less.

And yes, the community needs to stop keep perpetuating the myth that N is bad in flower and will ruin your yields. I have run several grows with foliage pro all the way through with fantastic zero yield.

My wife swears by Mg soil and her plants are great. we've used it plenty with great success. But.... lately it seems they are letting quality really slip with sticks and trash in the bags and I believe the bags i got recently werent correctly mixed, with some hot and some needing extra ferts. I'm going to promix or a perlite hempy for next go round.

For 20 years I grew some amazing fields using time release and general MG so I can't say anything bad about it. When I started growing just for myself I switched to compost and premixed liquid for the hydro runs but the MG served me well. As for the actual source of their salts I'm not sure about that either so perhaps there are issues I'm not aware of :(.

Yup, time release works. Used it on the swamp grows that couldn't be tended to. Is it great .... nope, but it fills a need. When they first came out with it (yes I remember lol) it was a miracle product for some of our grows as they were hard to get to :). We bought 5 gallon pails of the stuff (not miracle grow). adding it to the bags about 2/3 of the way down the bag would carry the girls part way through the season. Also Med we never changed to flowering nutes either.....so much simpler back then lol.
Mind you this was in no way meant as a medical product. That was not even mentioned back then.

There are folks around who make it work great. Its only not functional right out the bag for flower, it must be modified for flower. The potting mix does work in veg.

as a plus you get that metallic salty taste ..lol
I literally ran an OG plant in all MG products and epson salt outdoors last year and the taste was fine after curing. I did not notice the harshness, metallic or ass flavor I keep hearing about on the internet. I totally thought it would be bad but to my suprise nope. I think the taste has more to do with the drying and curing.

My brother still uses MG general purpose and bloom and his girls taste just the same as my outdoor compost grows, but they get taller and yield more lol. It's a big enough difference that I keep thinking I should start using it again lol.
