Miracle grow nute burn? Yes or no? Day 3

What's up folks.

added soil to my existing container and watered to help plants from bending over in wind when out outside. Guess I watered in all the nutes in this damm M.G potting soil and now have a mess.

girls are 5 days away from the 1 month old stage. They were doing really well growing like crazy. Now some leaves have completely died off and others are being takin over.

new growth is still coming in but is slow and stunting growth.

I've done similar grows but never topped up with soil as these girls stretched a little bit much and wanted to have a better base.

You live and you learn.

Thanks for reading. So the question is Yes or no?

I have seen this before but cant remember what it is. Let me search around and see if i can find it. More info will help like lighting, temps, nutes being fed, how often watering ect.

Mg is trash imo. I don't prefer any time release. Here's what to do, get some good organic soil from your local hydroponics or garden store and repot those into larger containers as those are getting too big for what they are in. When you repot knock off all the old soil you can without freeing roots also cut off your lowest set of branches and pot it as deep as possible burying the stalk and getting rid of that huge node spacing you have. Your lights are too far away from the plants they are stretching bad. After you do all this and water them do nothing for about four days.. Then they MAY need more water and eventually food. Make sure to have a fan blowing lightly in their direction.

I haven't fed it this is just from the slow release of the MG potting mix. I added dry soil to the top of container and watered it in to add a better base but I guess I watered in excess nutes.

they are stretched because I never planned on using lights (dumb idea well know for next time) spring has been very slow in the northern hemisphere and I usually have my girls planted by mid May or outside for majority of the day. It's getting down to 3degrees tonight which I saw in our long term forecast...so about a week ago I bought 4 6500k 100w cfls.

they are the right distance away (pretty dam close without burning the leaves)

I was watering a little frequent but typically every other day or when soil and container become light in weight or colour for soil.

they are recovering new growth is coming in quick, but height growth has stopped.

at the end of the day it's a lesson learned I don't get upset about it because I don't look at it as a negative.

thanks for all y'all's advice.

happy growing!!

Thanks Neal. Talked to a fellow supplier to dispensaries and he suggested flush for a week and using a basic pro mix soil next time. He has problems and is learning every day even after 25years of growing. Boy have the times changed. Who would've thought about auto flowers in the 80's? Thanks again.

happy growing

i would question his advice.........
i used only mg products a little over a decade outdoors. then moved indoors,
all my grow houses (6) are automated. no problems.. i try and make it to each weekly..
anyone growing for that length of time and cant dial in his grow.......i would say this isnt the "hobby" for him

Never stop learning and think you know it all. I always am learning new things. I do t think mg is your issue here. Look almost like light burn to me really hard to tell though it could be a deficiency of some kind. Frist thing i would do is loose the Mg and get so e Happy Frog soil, great stuff. Get some good grow and bloom nutes and calmag. Ph your water nute mix to 6.2 and water until 20% run off and test the ph of the run off water. Make sure the soil ph is within range and adjust watering ph as needed. Wait until soil is dry and then repeat. Most issues come from incorrect ph issues. Mg soil is bad for our plants because it holds too much water and the roots dont like that, too much peat and too little perlite and the slow release nutes in the soil.

he knows his shit. We all learn everyday especially with all the new strains and techniques coming up. Every strain can react differently.

seems like you have it all dialed down to a T.

plants are recovering well. One is curling up and biggest leaves on top node are turning left. Any advice on that? Feed her 2 days ago with Dutch nutrient formula but only the A formula as it has nitrogen/calcium/potash. Did not mix the B DNF formula with this watering as I only needed mainly nitrogen to help bring leaves back up to colour. Worked for colour but like I said leaves are curling in hard now almost dying off. Will post picture.

cheers.

ps. Transplanted 4 days ago from solo cup to 1 gallon. Outside grow full sun 20c. Water every 3 days or so. OG kush-dinafem.

thanks man. I need to get PH tester I'll admit I'm new to the indoor growing well starting indoors anyways. I've always bought clones in June and had no issues. Decided to start from seed this year and am learning a lot. I use well water with water softener in the system. When I have the money I will buy a PH tester preferably electronic as I've heard they are much easier to use and read.

thanks for your advice.
