Miracle gro seed starter mix

I wouldn't replay right away either I figured you have to let the microbes and fungus break down the old roots as they die. Probably makes for a killer compost once it's all broken down. I'm assuming you need to keep watering those pots thought right? To keep the soil alive and happy. Ya I want to grow a plant or two on my porch in a 12 gallon tub, But I want to make it an organic living soil grow and just keep it alive in the off season with a ryegrass or clover cover crop. that's why I've been looking so hard Into no-till. I'm in the inland hills of so cal so it gets really hot in the summer. I am looking for the best option. And that way i can keep reusing the soil I make and just reamend every year. But if all goes well I'd like to use the same soil indoor too. I just hear you get the best flavor and aroma with an all organic grow.
I think it's probably better not to replant right away, but I did last time and they were still loving it. And yes, you always want to keep the soil somewhat moist so the microbes don't die. I just like the simplicity of the whole no-till approach cause I'm lazy. But ya I noticed the flavor difference a lot compared to the medical stuff I was buying.

So when you reamend your soil after the first grow is it just teas and top dressing?
I give teas throughout the grow, and throw in a handful of EWC each time with the tea. And ya, just top dressing with that "Craft Blend" I was talking about. That stuff has a good combination of the right stuff to use. If you haven't checked out the Build a Soil stuff, you should if your thinking no-till. That's what they're all about.

Hell ya thank you. I'll have to look into them. I have a bunch of stuff like another bag of seed starter mix. But not MG. Its espoma and it's got peat moss, peat humus, EWC and some lime for Ph along with some micro life added. And I have some Jobes organic granular which is bone meal, composted poultry litter, feather metal and 1 other I think. And it has a bunch of bacteria and fungus in it. Omri listed organic. I'm going to use it for my amendment along with some alfalfa meal and EWC, some coco and some regular peat moss. I'm going to try out a little 12 gal batch of this mixed up as close to some of the recipes as I can and see what happens. I picked some local wild grass seeds and straw for a cover crop. I'm kinda lazy too but I'm also cheap, that why hydro would have never worked for me if I can source some cheap, easy organics and find a way to make it work, then that what I'm going to do. I think I'll start a thread about it once I get it going

I also don't want to be spending a ton on nutes. When I was about to start I went in to my Hydro shop to ask em what I should do and he started showing me what he thought I should do and I would of been spending massive amounts for the chemicals. He actually got kinda offended when I all of a sudden interrupted him and said "Oh, that's crazy, I can't be spending that much on nutrients." Ya way cheaper with organics, but I think it's a harder learning curve in the beginning.

Funny thing, the guy at the hydro shop in my town actually told me he makes a mean tea if I ever go organic. I didn't think about it then, but I think he might be my best bet. Maybe hes more of an organic grower with a hydro store front. Hmmm I'll have to go chop it up with him a little more. I'm always down for a solid learning curve. There's way more than just ppm and ph meters. All the microlife would be a year round grow, even if there is no cannabis growing in it

Ya I never check or mess with my ph. I let the microbes do it fo me. Ya talk to that hydro guy. The guy I first talked to doesn't know shit I came to learn later, even from another one of his employees. I wish the store I've been going too knew more about organics, but they are only like 2 miles away so I go there for convenience and just learn online on my own.
