i would go another week. ak is indica dominant if i remember correctly? so it won't hurt. plus, you get additional flushing time

Just tuned in now, that afghan kush looks beautiful, just solid buds. I say always let the autos go to 60 days at the very least, most journals I've seen harvest in week 9 or so.

The Afghan is solid! Impressed with AK as well. I've got better lower popcorn buds on these now than I did on my last 600W Red Dwarf grow at harvest!!

Quick sidenote - Germed 4 seeds on the 24th Aug and they're coming on nicely except the SLH. Im far from experienced so not sure if its anything to worry about but seems growth is stunted. Think it may either have nute lock as I plant straight into batmix, or its a runt? The leaves seem to have a ripple as well? I've just germed another one hoping it grows better. I notice you've got a SLH on the grow mate. Heres a pic of the group at 10 days from seed, am I right germing another or should I stick with her?

Got a scope now so took a few pics. Goes to show its worth checking as they look cloudy with the naked eye but pretty clear under the scope. I'll take some more next time they're out for feeding, should get some better one's then.

Started "flushing" today so took a few snaps. Pleased with how this grow's gone so far, but i'll avoid growing with this set-up during summer in future as it's been slightly on the hot side. The other day I found some carbon particles about the place. It was caused becasue im using the filter the wrong way and blowing through it. It wont be doing it any more though as I double pillowcased it lol. None got into the tent either so that was a relief.

Time for another update. All looking good, might chop the afghan in 4-5 days, i'll check again then but its nearly ready. One of the AK's is close as well so that'll be done shortly after. The other 2 are still throwing out pistols tho so they'll be last for the chop.

Harvest time for the Afghan! About 30% trichs were amber so decided to chop her. Thats 9 weeks from start to finish. During the last few days she took on a nice purple shade. Wet weight was 145 grams, so should end up with about 1 1/4 oz once dried, stalk trimmed, and cured. That'll do I wont be sampling it until its dried and had at least a weeks cure. I also got a nice ball of resin from the scissors, so i'll be trying that soon....

A couple of my AK's are quite a bit bigger than this one so im confident i'll get well over 5 oz off them 3 plants when they're chopped.

Hi Guys!

A couple of the AK's were ready so chopped them today. The smallest 1 weighed 132 grams wet, and the other 142 grams wet. Not quite the yield I was hoping for but very happy with the quality, nice tight buds. The biggest AK still has 5-7 days to go. Going on the principal of losing 75% of the weight I should end up with about 105 grams from those 3 plants (3 3/4 oz).

I vaped the resin from the Afghan and it was knockout....literally! Got an almost instant head high, then steadily went to a deep body stone which lasted a couple of hours....then I fell asleep during a film I put on lol. The buds should be nice!

Here's the last few pics of the Afghan thats curing. A week later it weighs 30 grams, so got 1oz from it basically. Buds are a bit fluffy, but it smells really good, vapes and smokes smooth and sweet, and decent couchlock stone.

Chopped the last AK now, still didn't look as done as the others but couldn't leave her any longer and she'd gone 70 days. I found a couple of seeds when harvesting her But found some info on this site that females can sometimes do this at the end of flowering as a way to survive? Hoping it hasnt effected potency? Any thoughts on this would be welcome? The wet weight of this plant was 172 grams.

Was expecting a bit more yield from these girls but fairly happy with how this grow went. I learnt a lot. Now i've got a couple of auto grows under my belt i'll be trying some reg strains next time.

I'll make one more final update on dry weight. Thanks to anyone that tagged along, enjoyed doing this journal, comments welcome!

Just a quick final update. The AK is well on the way to a nice cure now, whats left anyway The final dry weight from the AK's was just over 4oz from the 3 plants. Its really nice to have some decent quality bud and not get ripped off at the street.

Now these buds have had a cure here's my vape report lol. The Afghan smells sweet and fruity, and tastes the same. Nice and smooth, and has a strong couchlock stone. The AK is much earthier, not quite as smooth, and isn't as strong. Still nice stone but more of a creeper.
