what ways can I best pursue experiencing things instead of having them. is this what people are doing when they meditate?
YES!!!!! iloveyou
meditate is a concept..
the concept is
WATCHING YOUR MIND
watching ONE's mind
To become the watcher, rather than the mind..
This is a NORMAL healthy human state... at this time in human consciousness, most people need to start WATCHING their mind by sitting down and staying perfectly still and NOT reacting to any thought or ANY SENSATION...
ONE must be extremely dedicated to the practice and have unwaivering compassion and patience for ONESELF.
Once ONE gets a glimpse of the space between thoughts.. the stillness called GOD....
the YOU that is NOT MIND..
then the practice starts to grow very quickly...
There are some TRICKS that can help people get the first piece of evidence of this state... evidence is required, because the mind cannot fathom this state and has millions of excuses "why" this is just new age bullshit or double talk, or a variety of other silly stories...
THE MIND WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND - NOT DOING
so it is important to get a glimpse and experience this state... this helps start the practice...
Sustaining this state of NON DOING (shifting awareness away from the mind) is very similar to DEATH.. the minds main duty is to avoid death,.,., thus you can see why the mind avoids this state...
Sitting and watching ONEs breath for 5 minutes every morning and every night without moving... in the SITTING position.. in absolute stillness... will start to allow the practitioner to cultivate enough AWARENESS and INTENTION to get a GLIMPSE...
Some people are better off focus on their ears and "entering zen from there"
You can choose anything... the ultimate entry that leads to the deepest transitions is ONE's breath.. I usually enter through my hands and ears...
This sounds a bit confusing.... but it will all make sense once you start a practice..
