i have been going back and forth about getting my green card because i want to join the airforce in a couple years but i am worried that i wont get in.
here's what im thinking...if i do get my card and smoke and whatnot for a couple years you know and quit and get clean and wait till my card expires would i have a good chance of getting in?
if i could pass the piss test and cant posses marijuana anymore cause my card is done with than will that be a problem.

if you are not a citizen and want to join the military you need a green card and eventually they will have you take your citizenship. Why would you think about waiting to join the military, it only gets harder the older you get. Just quit smoking and join, I did and was pot free for over 5 years, now I have a GI BILL, VA benifits and I get 10% at my favorite dispensarys. I was born in the USA so I did not have to worry about all the green card stuff but I know you need one to join. Just become a citizen and quit being an illegal.

i am a U.S. citizen...born and raised in the Pacific North-West...i talking about if i have a medical marijuana card and it expires and i quit can i join the military?

Medical marijuana and green card are way different. You said green card in your post.

i called it a green card because the card is green, ive also seen orange cards...my bad though i shouldve said medical marijuana card

Well, I joined the military in 1986, and I told them I had smoked it because I had but was currently a non-smoker of the herb.
They wanted to be sure I did not participate in buying, selling, or transporting it. I said nope, tried it once and didn't like it :)
I got a "waver" for that aka my use means nothing.
Now, I had too many speeding tickets and had to wait an amount of time for my tickets to age and fall out of the range they were looking in...Go figure on that.

Being past medical, they "may" not even be privy that you had a card. But I "ASSUME" you could tell the truth, being a legal medical user who "recovered" from what ever and are off it and ready to prove it via a piss test.

BUT since most medical states require a debilitating illness, they very well could just say your not fit due to medical past preexisting conditions.
