Mildew or Trichromes?

Im about a week away from harvest of an outdoor grow. It’s my first plant ever, and buds look super healthy with no mold visible using jewelers loupe on multiple buds. I’ve always had it outside or on really cold nights ill bring it inside and use a fan to creat a gentle breeze. I’ve read a ton on the subject and could be over thinking it, but I’ve seen no evidence of mold other than what I think is shake from the trichrome heavy buds landing on the leaves when the plant gets blown around. With the way I grew this, I wouldn’t expect mold/mildew, but can’t tell what I see on these leaves and would rather toss the plant than smoke mildew. Any thoughts?

It looks like PM to me but you could use "2 teaspoons of organic apple cider vinegar mixed with one quart of water. Mist this mixture onto your plants to both kill the powdery mildew growth and prevent any more from cropping up".

Damn, just what I was afraid of. Can I use this method to rescue the harvest, or am I better tossing it and starting over?

Definitely looks like some mold, though your leaves may suggest other issues as well. Have you checked for pests, notably mites? Though you're a week away from harvest; not sure I'd do anything but ride it out at this point.

To follow up, I’ve searched the leaves with a keepers loupe and can tell it’s definitelt mildew/mold, but I see nothing on the buds themselves. Would any of you try and harvest it? If I do, I plan to look over every bud for mold before drying. Also considering spraying the whole plant down with solution of hydrogen peroxide, drying it with fans than immediately harvesting, as I’ve read about.

I haven’t seen any pests. What do you mean by ride it out?

Not to beat a dead horse, and you've already noted there are no pests, but your leaves are very indicative of a mite issue. I of course, could be and probably am, wrong. Either way, you're a week away from harvest; I wouldn't do too much at this point but let them finish up (ride them out). If indeed there is only mold on the leaves and not on your bud and you're 1 week away from harvest; I'd make hay while the sun was shinning by cutting them down and carrying on.

Cool, thanks man. I googled spider mites and that seems o be the issue, looks exactly like what’s on the leaves. I think I’ll harvest today, and just carefully check every bud before setting up to dry. I plan to start a new indoors grow soon either way so I’m not too upset with this, I’ve learned a lot and next time will be better.

There you go...grow and learn. It's how we all do it. Good luck on your harvest and do a thorough clean up of all your equipment, tent, lights, fans, pots, soil, everything...those little bastards (mites) are hard to eliminate without going all out.

So as a last ditch effort, I sprayed the whole plant down with neem oil today. Figured I’ve got nothing to lose at this point, so we’ll see if it helps. Figure if I see progress I’ll extend flowering a couple weeks and keep spraying it. I’ll post some more pics in the next couple days. Thanks for the help everyone!

You really SHOULDN’T have sprayed “ the whole plant “ with neem.
This late in the game would been an easier option to do a bud wash at end.

Now that you ht the flowers / buds with that shit , the smoke is ruined.

Smoking neem is like smoking gym socks .... considered it NOW a bust.

Be very sure to eradicate the pests, kill them then check for more then repeat .
You want to be sure they do not follow you inside.

Bummer. So that's it, huh? Upon closer inspection, the plant was covered in spider mites, so I didn't see many options. If I let the plant continue to flower for another couple weeks, could the neem oil taste go away? Or is it shot?

Pm could have had a bud wash with h2o2 and maybe be fine, i personally would not risk it but i have plenty. Spider mites too late to kill. Neem most likely ruined your buds, general rule is dont spray your buds with anything. Compost it and try again. You have gained experience and thats valuable.

Thanks man. That sucks, but theres always next time. If I have a couple seeds from this plant, is it cool to plant them after spraying them as I have?

also for your next go, you can treat with neem before issues happen to prevent. neem also helps treat and prevent mold/meldew.
