Are there any mild tasting strains. Looking to experiment with flavor additives similar to flavored tobacco but stong potency would be important.

actually, high quality seeds' haze x skunk tastes like cigar wrapper to me and IS crazy potent too. i don't like the flavor myself, but it's a really potent HIGH in a 12 week stretchy strain. it has some trippiness to it, but the really cool thing is that even after a month, it doesn't turn stony like even columbian gold would. very motivational with nice euphoria.
if you want a stonier strain along the lines of skunk #1, and cream cheese with hints of sweet fruit sounds to your tastes, DNA sour cream is better tasting than both skunk #1 and even overrated blueberry to me. if you want a truly mild flavor though, the two times i've been unimpressed with what i'm guessing were pure blueberries, all i got was the taste of a single grain of blueberruy sugar on my tongue. it probably didn't help that that's not a favorite flavor.
there's all kinds of flavors out there... lemon, orange, grape, licorice, diesel (blech!), lavender (sickeningly sweet), blackberry, blueberry, cherry, garlic, cheese, pepper, pineapple, grapefruit, tutti fruity, gingerbread, PUSSY (no! really!), menthol, coffee, liquor & even pina colada off the top of my head.
oh... you're looking to make your own flavors. i misread your thread the 1st time. don't put all of your eggs in that basket. everything i've read suggests it's a waste of time. you'd really be better off just getting a naturally flavored strain. many flavors can be VERY authentic, or even authentic approximations of artificial flavors.

what ever you do don't take hazey's advice the guy only smokes bud trim cause he harvests when they start to stink.
but any high potency strain is gonna have flavor but if you overly dry your bud it will loose most of the taste. you have to do a good job drying and curing to make it taste great. so I would think if you just dryed it and skiped the cure it won't have as pungent smell and taste.
