Micro light ballancer?

:idea:If I could get my 150w hps to move in an 12-18 inch straight line it would make my little cabinet super efficient. there must be an easy way of doing this. Or even one that is not easy, if anyone has made one or seen one please post a link.

THanks
:peace:

i don't know if maybe a small motor light track will work it consistently goes back and forth across the track at different speeds you choose

nobody has made one of these? Really?
actually yes they do its called light rail 3.5 i have one i just picked up it mounts to the ceiling and u put it on a timer the lights are on and you put it on the speed you want and it goes back and forth across the rail mines a 6ft rail and it takes 10-13min to reach each end of the track and u can set how far you want it to travel the track each way then you can get the trolly add on where u can hold 2 lights and fans so u can blow air to strengthen the roots and stems. There about $199-$249 depending on what length and how much weight it will hold heres the link http://www.homeharvest.com/lightmovers.htm

He's only talking about moving inches though, not 6ft.

Light movers are used in big grows where you need to cover a lot of area. They don't make light movers itty bitty grows like you have. Pointless

Look into some supplemental lighting like some T5's, CFLs, or T12's. It's more practical than trying to add a light mover into such a small space

if you want it to work in a small room your can cut down the track to your specific length and then put the motor on a plug in dimmer switch to drop the amperage and it will slow down the motor even more so it barely moves then adjust your stops accordingly u can make the light track move 2 inchs both ways if u wanted just the motor would change directions to much because the speed this is where the plug in dimmer switch would come into play where u could lower the amperage even more to slow the rpms down even further

How do you reverse an AC motor?

i was thinking more like a cheap car jack, the linear screw actuator and just have a slow motor that turns the screw one direction or the other to reverse directions. Ya'll see what I mean?

OK, I'll try to explain what I mean. The screw would be mounted so that it would be parallel to and about a quarter inch from the ceiling. at one end would be a motor that turned the screw and at the other end it would be suspended on a bearing so it could turn. The nut would have a small axel with a wheel on either side, just before the wheel on either side of the nut would be a hook to chain a lamp. The direction the motor turned would dictate which direction the lamp would travel and which wheel would press against the ceiling,

Any one KNow what motor would work?

oh yeah, thanks for the input

oh yeah, I agree with everything i've heard so far except the part about pointless to be efficient. It's always good to make something more efficient :)
