By the time you read this kindone I hope your hunt is over. Hope you got the rack you were looking for. I know in Grant after the first day you just don't see em again like you did.

Shootin all around us this morning, didn't see a damn thing cept about 20 turkeys.. I hate hunting fields. can't wait to find a better place to take my daughter hunting. Good thing my dad shot one at their place in Morley yesterday. I might be needing half of it lol. Long season ahead though.

I had a couple run past early and never had a shot, I hunt for meat and want young tender does, you guys can have them racks. My friend shot a nice big 9 on the other side of the property we hunt.

I hear ya kindone, You gonna try again tonight?
Afraid not, I wanted too bad but I have nobody to watch the kids tonight. Its my mother in laws birthday and she has been watching the kids every night this week while I was working a job in Kalamazoo, didn't want to bother her even though I know she would have in a heartbeat. I will fill my freezer one way or another.

My wife said my dad got 1. I called him but no answer.

My friend said he shot 5 times and there was no blood. He claims it was running hard but I have went on many hunts with him and a mild trot would result in no blood.

Do you get doe tags where you are kindone? Would you shoot a doe?

I got a combo tag with alows you 2 deer with archery or firearm bucks or does, I would prefer to shoot a couple of does, better meat generally.

First time in my life I haven't seen a deer on opening day... Screw Branch County.. How you supposed to teach a kid to hunt when there are no deer..

I should've went up to Newago, my mom sat in my blind and had a buch grunting around her at 7:30 am but she couldn't see it.. I would've talked back to him and had him come in.. usually anyways.

Ugh...

My muzzel loader got jammed up, and I couldn't get it out. had to take it to a gun smith yesterday. first opening day i've missed in many years. hope it'll be ready today. i tried everything to get that damn thing out. better swipe with bore butter before every load like I know I should. Stupid.

No backup shotgun bowlful? I'm in the market for a muzzeloader now, gonna hit dunhams today. I don't like the idea of buying a brand new gun but not much for quality used muzzleloaders around here.

no, unfortunatly. I sold my slug gun last year because all I ever use is my TC Omega. it's never failed me, and I'm the one who failed it. Trust me though, i'll be buying a backup weapon this winter. I can't believe it. I don't even know what to do with myself, waiting to hear if its fixed so I can get out. My hunting partner whacked one first thing yesterday and I wasn't there to help. Oh well, its early still.

First year I missed in 4 decades. My neighbor took a dandy 8 out of my stand.

Hey stump if I still hav this place next year you are welcome to bring your daughter to the youth hunt.

Two young ladies already christened my stand with 2 deer (buck n doe) with two simutainulus shots, it's not really hunting on my place. Kinda like pickin a lobster at Red Lobster.
