surely tho, this can't be the first 2oz pc grow... there must be someone out there who's killed that target dead. that's a bit of pressure :P
Hey mewk, I've been lurking around this and your last PC grow.. genuinely inspiring ;) I'll be starting my first micro grow shortly. When do you usually start feeding and what soil/nutes do you use if you don't mind my asking?

This guy apparently got 2oz out of his PC grow w/ SCRoG.. I dont see why you shouldn't be able to w/ LST

Best of luck!

Mewk, just finally read your journals. Had to go back to the first one and catch up but now I'm on board and cheering you on this one. :-)

Morning my lovelies.

All goes well within the confines of my ol' PC box. The LST is getting a bit complicated in there, some of the older fan leaves are starting to yellow now, but she's still showing fresh growth every time I check on her. So all in all, we're happy.

I'm continuing to aim for Nov 6th for the 12/12 switch, so what I've been doing is knocking her light down an hour at a time, to ease her into it. To explain, she's been on 20/4 for her entire veg, a few days back I knocked that down to 19/5, then 18/6, etc etc. It just seems like a nicer way of doing things, let her pretend she's got realistic seasonal weather :)

Anyhow, here's some pics, sorry they're still in the box, but I only thought of it after I'd watered her, so didn't want her drenching the carpet.

She's still raised up really high, but doesn't seem to be minding it, so I'll keep her thataway until she really needs the extra vertical space.

Right, onto the deliciously positive feedback from everyone.

@Tribby - Thanks for the kind words dude, and no, ask away about anything. Nute wise, I barely use anything. I've got some Tomorite (common cheapo tomatoe nutes) that I *massively* dilute, and use once every 5-6 waterings. The soil was whatever the local hardware shop had that was going cheap. From what I remember, it was a seedling soil with some organic nutes already in it. I didn't start giving her any nutes in the water until around day 25 of veg I reckon. She was looking pretty sturdy by then. IMHO, playing with nutes when you're not 100% sure of what you're doing, is just asking for trouble. That's why I dilute so much, and rarely use. She seems to get most of what she needs from the tap water :P - Oh, and cheers for the link too, was a really good read... Amazed that dude managed to scrog in a pc case. Looks like he pulled 2.4oz from her once dried... So there's a target to aim for! :D

@ShakenBake - I'm just growing one plant in my box. I have one pc fan that gets connected up to a DIY carbon filter during flower. Now, to begin with, the first couple weeks, I was pretty impressed with the fan.... But the closer she got to cropping, the stinkier things got. It was certainly pretty obvious that I was growing, when you walked into the flat. I'mna try and fix another fan into the system that'll pull air *into* the box, in the hope that that'll help the fan pushing the air out a little.

@Barron - Hey man, thanks, that's really nice of you to say. Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride!

@Sensi - Good to have you around too mate. Glad you enjoyed last grows thread, I'm hoping this one should be a little more interesting. That's assuming I can post a little more regularly. As she starts to flower, I should get that excitement itch back and be lurking the boards on a regular basis tho.

All the best lads n lasses.

Take it easy, an happy growin.

Thanks Bearded & Ginger... Things're looking good today.

I've been a bit worried of late that the early accidental topping she got was gonna balls things up. But over the last week I've really noticed she's gone right back to full strength. At the time I did notice she slowed right down from the shock, but just didn't wanna admit it. So not a massive amount to report... I think she's on 15/9 lighting today. I'll knock her back a couple hours tomorrow.. then she goes 12/12 on the 6th... Ooooh... excitement lays just around the corner.

I've gotta remember to get another grow on the day she gets cropped, to try and have some kinda personal perpetual grow on the go.

Here she is today.

So we're here... We made it... 50 days of Veg, now 50 days of Flower.

I switched the lights this morning, she's now on 12/12 from 9am to 9pm, so I can nod off to sleep again without that whir of the fan in the background.

Have attached the DIY scrubber to the back of the case, and am gettin ready for the sweet sticky stink of goodness.

I did a typical stoner calculation the other night, and figure that if I can manage to turn 2oz in 100 days, that gives me around an 8th a week to smoke. I could happily live on that! :)

No pics today, will post up a couple more in the next day or so.

@reku - no signs of excitement yet, but all looks healthy.. bring on the bud!
@emannn - thanks mate. all good karma is welcome, every little helps.
@feuersturm - glad you made it here man, update is imminent.
@purple - sweet as, man. get yourself a grow diary started so we can keep tabs on it. i really wanna see how a scrog fares in a tiny growbox. i reckon with enough patience it'd do the job a treat. to be honest, my LST's turned out more like a scrog than an LST. everything that comes up, must get tied down! :P

Everything's been cool, just checked on her and she seems happy. Some serious LST bondage going on, but she's filling up the length of the pot nicely. I've spotted a good few potential budsites that're sprouting from the main stem, so I have some seriously high hopes here.

Have a look and tell me what you think.

20131109_102452.jpg20131109_102308.jpg20131109_102326.jpg20131109_102437.jpg20131109_102445.jpg

She's certainly still growing at the moment, I'm still having to put in new ties every few days to compensate for the vertical (or rather horizontal) growth from the main stem. No signs of flowering yet. Anyone got a rough idea of when she should show visible signs of flowering?

@emannn - you'll be so proud of me, mate. i've not stollen a single leaf off this plant so far. I'm just hoping I can keep up the temptation through this critical and desperately tempting stage. so far I'm really happy with how she's bushed out, looking so much healthier than the last scrawny sod I pulled from this box. she's now lookin a lot more like those awesome pop-bottle girls of yours.

right, that's it for today. any Q's fire away.

hey mewk, damn that's some good training, so proud m8 I know how hard it is. just a thought though, when you have to trim the fan leaves or when the fan leaves start turning yellow, keep them and make some oil, I have made about 4 grams so far and the next batch will be made with the lower trim as these tiny buds are unlikely to grow into anything, isopropyl alcohol £10/1ltr delivered from ebay, that way you wont need to pinch the odd bud. give yourself a slap on the back. keep up the good work m8. good luck :-)

Okay, I'm intrigued... How'd I go about making oil from a handful of fan leaves?

Also... Flat-lining? Wasn't that a kevin bacon movie?

save all the old leaves that go yellow and any trimmed leaves + stems, about as much as you would get in a crisp packet, dry completely and chop up finely, I use a coffee grinder, add isopropyl alcohol, about a 3rd of the bottle, stir for a few minutes and let stand another couple, vent kitchen well, put a pan of water on the hob/cooker and bring to boil then simmer, now filter the liquid with a coffee filter, pour liquid into a Pyrex dish that fits into the pan, double boil method, keep an eye on it and eventually the alcohol evaporates off, what you are left with is a green/brown oil, scrape this up and put into a anadin lid. you will be surprised at how good the smoke is. in America they would use grain alcohol which doesn't remove the chlorophyll, unfortunately over here we cant buy it. if you waited till the end of the grow and did this with all the yellow leaves then the oil would be more brown. there are several you tube videos on the subject. just make sure no naked flames near the liquid and if a gas cooker keep on low, or you could use a rice cooker, just not as easy to get our gram or two out of. good luck m8 and I`ve just made another batch :-)

Such a dense little bush, great training there!

Sorry if you've answered this i just skipped to the end but are you using any nutrients on this plant?

Sweet as emannn... I'll certainly ponder upon the idea... Tho I've got a shifty gas cooker, and the likelihood of me setting the entire road alight, seems a little high. I might look into the rice cooker option, been meaning to grab me one of those for ages.

@Kirk - No nutes really man... I occasionally *heavily* dilute some run-of-the-mill tomatoe nutes in there, but most of the time it's just basic tap water that I've left to stand for 24hours... Sometimes even straight from the tap... Thanks for the kind words on her training.. It looks a lot nicer in the pics than it does in reality, she's bound every which way. I keep meaning to untie everything, give her a breather, and put everything back in a more oderly way.... maybe today.
