Meth on MySpace

Has anyone else noticed the anti-meth ads on MySpace?

I seriously doubt that anybody who does or will do meth spends their time on the internet, let alone a site like that.

Lots of different people do lots of different drugs. I have done meth and I spend all my free time on the internet :? granted I was never and addict, more of a dabbler.

Not everyone whos done hard drugs fits into the mold anti-drug people put us in. I actually find your statement pretty offensive. What if I said something like;

"Have you seen the anti-weed adds in Scientific American? I seriously doubt that anyone who smokes pot reads, let alone a magazine like that"

I'm not trying to defend meth, one of my best friends lives was ruined by it, but your statement was so ignorant I just had to respond.

/opinion

i wasnt trying to be ignorant

i was just pointing out that there are, in fact, anti meth ads on myspace

im sorry if it did sound less than educated

i didnt mean for it to be that way

but shouldnt we first take the time to understand each other before jumping on what someone says?

its unhealthy for everyone

and besides, what makes one persons opinion more valid than anybody else's? :-|

i honestly dont see the point of the OP, you and i both know that the drug war czars will stamp their shit wherever they can, even on a website that is mostly viewed by preteens, this is not to say that meth is good (though like all drugs it can be fun if used responsibly and in moderation)

It's funny because I know a few people who all they do is get jacked and do the myspace thing.

hey everyone

I believe there are meth users who go online but i think those adds are more of a deterent. As a ploy to stop people from starting the habit. because once they start they might stop going on myspace... conspiracy.

take it easy

ya know, I'm pretty sure the point of any anti-drug ad is to prevent people from doing drugs. and frankly I think it's overdone, kids are gonna start dismissing those ads because there's so many. people will stop caring

My uncle used to take 3+ tabs and take his computer apart then see how quick he could put it together again. If he wasnt doing that then he was hacking into something somewhere or writing computer programs.

they dismiss the ads because once they smoke weed they realize that drug education is a lie. then of course thats one reason you get so many junkies, kids who are taught that weed and heroin are equally terrible, then they or friends try weed, realize all those ads and videos were a lie and don't take hard drugs as seriously as they should. then of course they go on to say weed was their gateway drug and weed gets a bad name, its a vicious cycle. honesty will win the "war" on drugs.

I won't do any drug that has to be cooked up in a beaker. I figure if I can grow it, then it's all good.

very untrue. i used to be into ice back in the day and the internet is great for keeping your fidgety hands busy. also, the internet is availible 24/7,, which is when the meth user is awake.. all the time lol.

As someone that tweaked for over a year, speedfreaks spend lots of time on the internet. Sometimes its on IRC trading a plastation for credit card numbers, sometimes its refreshing pages waiting for changes, sometimes its endless reading, sometimes its endless writing. Tweakers are everywhere, and lots of times they seem as normal as you do.
