metal halide for flowering?

i have a 400w metal halide i was given for free along with 500 actual watts of 2700k clf running in a 4x4 tent with six babies i started flowering at 20-26" , its week three of flowering and the biggest is now 40" but my question is can i expect decent results using the mh...i kno i should be using a hps but dont have the money for one yet.

if you have a magnetic mh ballast you can get a conversion bulb for about $40 with shipping. thats what im using now. i got it a little after 2 weeks into flowering.

I hear people are having amazing results with the ceramic metal halides - some people I know are choosing to flower with them over their HPS. If you have a digital ballast I bet you it runs HPS as well. Most all digital ballasts even if not advertised run both MH and HPS so all you would need is the bulb. If it is not digital I would look at the ceramic metal halide bulbs. Regular MHs will do a good job flowering as well and considering you have a bunch of 2700k CFLs you should be fine as is if you really can't afford an upgrade.
