Yes, take back the parts and keep vegging them with cfls and flouro's for now and get atleast a 600w Hps light to flower them. You will need atleast a 600w for the number of plants that you have. And are your plants from seeds or clones. If they are from seeds then you can probably get by with a 400w hps because you will probably lose atleast half of your plants due to males and what not.

Get two 400watt over one 600 like buy a cheap 400watt then another later on and keep adding 400watt lamps if you can get rid of the heat and pay the bill. 600watt sucks if your gonna get that just get a 1000watt and get rid of that heat just my thoughts though.

Sounds to me like you haven't researched much.....If you don't educate your self, your going to waste a lot of money.....for $40 bucks more you can get an E-Bay light ready to plug in

Yeah it sounds like you should go for the 1000 watter and also get a switchable ballast so you can flower too

Your cfls should do u for veg ok i like them as good as a mh for vegging, If your going 2 have round about 10 flowering plants you would be best going for a 100w hps

i think shoot2kill means a 1000w hps.imo i would take the stuff you have now back and go to htg supply.com and buy a 1000w hps/mh grow light, its going to include a balist, light bulbs, reflector, and is going to be ready to plug in when you get it. or if you dont want to order from the net just go to a hydro store and buy a 1000 grow light but at htg every thing is much cheaper.

you just need an extention cord wit a plug on it. i got the same thing but hps. works just as good as the ones in the metel box.

Lizard: You can, but you will have better results if you use a MH for vegging and a HPS for flowering. If you have a HPS ( i only assume cause u asked this question), just go out and buy a conversion bulb thats MH and runs on a HPS ballast. there only $80 bucks at my local grow shop, saves you from buying two light setups.

What ever thats more lies from mags and forums... I use a 400 watt MH for flowering with some warm colored cfls and I used to use a 400watt HPS no diference at all none..... as long as you got a little red mixed spectrum is better
