metal grow cab design help needed!!!

:cuss::cuss:i got a 400watt hps from HTG the cheap one and it gets way to hot so i bought a 4" can fan and was told it was would pull enough air out to keep it cool inside and it dont so how could i keep it cool with the fan i have it installed at the top of the cab it is a 4 x 2 x 3 area i also have a small fan bringing in cool air i just dont understand how it could still be getting 100 with the door closed? This is extremely frustrating someone please help

Are you air cooling your lights, or do you just have the fan set up as an exhaust? The temps outside your growbox also need to be taken into consideration. I would say seal up your reflector, and air cool it, then also have an exhaust fan setup pulling air out of the box. Hope that helps a little.

ya that does i was just looking at the coolable hoods do they just attach to the light or is there wiring involved in it also ? and do those things work real well?

get a cool tube or dyi one if you have a michaels in your area they sell the glass hurricane cylinder its like 8bucks .also look in the dyi section on here they have good step by step instructions on how to do it

You attach a seperate vortex fan to the ducting which is connected to your sealed hood or cool tube. And yes, they work great.

I had the same set up as you, but those booster fans are junk, my temps, 400 watt system in my cabinet get no higher than 85 now that I have a sealed reflector
