Messed up while transplanting

As I was pulling the plant out, the roots broke. I have about 3 inches of roots. The plant is 4 inches tall. If I replant it in coco coir will it take root?

Did it wither? It can sustain some root damage...It will most likely wither temporarily but it should perk up again within a day or two if the root damage isn't too bad.

It is still green. White a but or the roots were ripped off. I guess we will see. I will keep you posted

I know everyone does it different but instead of pulling them out I try to squeez the cup gently while "dumping" the plant out to make sure my root development at the bottom comes out nice. It can be a bit messy but whats a little mess to ensure good roots?

Same happened to me few weeks ago. Mine were about 5 inchs tall and I accidenly broke the roots to about 2-3 inchs. I transplanted them into soil, put them under my 600w HPS and there fine. I'm sure you have nothing to worrie about as mine survived in cheap soil haha GL

Roots are immenently replacable. Means that trauma alone will probably not kill your plant.
Get her back in dirt asap and monitor the water closely. It's easy to over-water plants with root trauma
so watch that.

BigSteve.
