Has anybody tried making the tea described in the erowid page below?

http://www.erowid.org/plants/cacti/cacti_preparation5.shtml

This seems much simpler than extraction for those not chemically inclined, and also preferable to eating a foot of cacti.

I have several san pedros(still pretty small) and was planning to try this before trying any extractions.
yes, and it works GREAT! will be brewing 14lbs this weekend. i change it slightly though. i use RO water, i add the juice of one lemon per LB, and i cut out the center portion. I also cook it overnight...good luck

It tastes BAD! it CAN NOT be make to taste even OK.... just drink it and get it over with  depends how much you concentrate it. last time i drank about 12 oz, cooked down from 3lbs of pedro, tripped for a good 10+ hours.

Don't add sugar or try to make it sweet. Its still going to be bitter and nasty. But it'll also be sweet at the same time. Making it nastier.
