Unless the mother agrees, you generally have to prove her unfit. There's a strong bias in favor of the mother.

wow, red..i'm sorry to hear that..really..was the fire at your home?..how did it happen?..it not about me feeling better.. it's about me understanding you..

actually, custody is "joint" these days in most cases..residential is usually the mother..there was no bias with child support..you take both parties' income and the parent who does not have residential at the time pays the amount to the residential parent according to the states chart..my divorce was final in florida 1997 and that's how they are doing it..

Yes, in the home. No definitive cause, but probably careless smoking.

I am in the process of tearing down my grow operation and moving everything into storage. I need to get the landlord out here to fix the roof and the plumbing. So I should get my ass back to work. Later!

was this during the night?..what about smoke alarms? they are pretty good at tracing back that's surprising no definitive cause..how old were your children..boys/girls?:hug:

Yes, I was working the night shift at the time. Smoke alarms were unheard of in '82. They could only determine where it started, a couch. 26 months, the boy, 8 weeks, the girl.
