Medical Marijuana

All....As a late 60's, early 70's "head", I smoked enormous quantities of weed. I always felt that it was a very peaceful high but quit due to legal problems in the early 70's.

My wife is fighting metastatic problems associated with lung cancer (brain and adrenal gland.) Nausea and vomiting due to intolerance of pain medications are causing extreme weight loss and lack of appetite.

Expensive anti-nausea drugs such as Zofran have had limited success in eliminating the nausea.

I am looking for advice as to how to obtain marijuana for medical use. I live in the state of Kentucky which does not have legislation approving medical use. I have looked at web sites that sell seeds, but am unsure of reliability and am concerned as to time required to harvest.

Recommendations?

No pain no gain. Start growing now! The longer you wait the longer it will take.

Ps Sorry to hear about your wife. Hope she gets better. Good luck!

I do not know much about US legalities but, you can probbly do fairly well with a closet grow, from clone to bud your looking at about 3 months, we have some reliable seed companies that this site works with pm if your interested and I will help you out. If you can find clones from anyone that is the easiest starting from seed is more of a pain, but once you get your females and toss your males your on your way. Depending on how much you would need to smoke per day, just figure out how much you need to grow.

Sorr if this doesnt make sense I just woke up :bigjoint:

I work with patients and provide them with my produce, but it is all very limited to my state. Crossing state lines is when the feds get involved, and they make up their own rules, and don't allow any mention of medical use in your defense.

I'm legal here, but not outside the state. I'm sorry about your health problems, and glad that cannabis is helping with the symptoms. My advice is to buy it until you can supply it.

tymetravler, I'm a medical MJ patient in California. It looks like what you'll have to do is grow your own bud. And this all starts with finding the right spot in your house. Believe me, no one in the entire world would know you're growing marijuana if you keep it simple. Two or three plants in your closet is all you need. And the plants are only going to be about 3.5 feet tall. Very little smell -- and the smell you do get is nothing that your neighbors would worry about. But since you don't have any medical MJ legislation in Kentucky, you'll have to find a friend with some seeds --- or you'll have to buy seeds from a seed bank and germinate them. Clones seem like a long-shot for you right now. Unless, of course, you have a clone source. As for the seed banks, I've used WorldWideSeeds.com and SeedsDirect.com.

Hope that helps...and feel free to ask as many questions that you have. I'll help you answer every one of them.

I live here in Kentucky. I grew cannabis for medicinal reasons, however last year the police invaded my home, "stole" all my medicine and grow ops, and arrested me. I recieved a term in state pen but was probabted for 2.5 years, which of course I'm currently serving. Because of this I am unable to smoke or cultivate my medicine for the time being, however I still have a nice selection of cannabis seeds that I would be happy to share with you for your wife's needs. Kentucky is by no means a "cannabis friendly state" when it comes to dealing with the authorities, but we that live here are people too that suffer and need relief just as much as people who live in the 11 "cannabis friendly" states. Please PM me to recieve some free seeds. Respect.

Marijuana can act as the loosening agent, so that whatever has been banned from consciousness may come cascading forth. To uncover our deceptions without our usual rationalizations can be unpleasant, an experience that has turned many psychologically fragile individuals away from marijuana despite its therapeutic catharsis."

Cannabis has been used for medicinal purposes for approximately 4,000 years. Writings from ancient India confirm that its psychoactive properties were recognized, and doctors used it for a variety of illnesses and ailments. These included a whole host of gastrointestinal disorders, insomnia, headaches and as a pain reliever frequently used in childbirth.

Your path sounds a lot like my history.

KY has just reduced the penalties on MJ to a schedule B offense so it’s not a felony if caught for the first offense.

Wormsway is a great hydroponics store and they have a location in Northern KY and ship daily. http://www.wormsway.com They have everything to get you going for an indoor grow except seeds.

I recommend you look into DWC and indoor growing. I also recommend 5 gal buckets and KY law gets really nasty when over 4 plants. Watch out for IR signatures from your lights, KY popo uses IR detecting aircraft everywhere. They have inexpensive plastic/metallic shields to block that so use them.

Your first grow from seed will take about 6 months so get going. Learn to clone and you will cut that in half. Indica seems to have more medical benefits for pain and cancer.

You won’t find a better site for learning the skills to help your wife and a better bunch of people to help you learn.

You are on the right track as MJ is the only truly effective treatment for her. One compound in Marijuana seeks out cancer cells throughout the body and destroys them leaving healthy ones intact. That’s why the feds say MJ kills brain cells, they just don’t tell you they are cancer cells.

Who has a good recommendation for a strain that is best for cancer eradication?

KY law enforcement is quite aggressive, cunning and absolutely merciless. They will trick, con, sting or any other dirty trick they can dream up to catch a cancer patient just trying to obtain the relief that prescription medications can’t provide. They think they are warriors for good when in fact, they are just hurting the infirmed. Use extreme caution and stealth in KY. Remember, loose lips cause prison trips. Hope this helps. S
