Medi takes the Under Current RDWC system for a test drive, 6' x 8' Screen of Green.

Hi,

Very informative & cool thread, wish I found it months ago!

Wondering if anyone can help me with some UC questions...

I’m having some serious issues with slime in my current culture buckets
Just put the plants in last week.

This is my second run. Last time I used current culture nutes and had root rot/gnat problem that was eventually resolved with the help of H2O2 and Azamax..I scrubbed the buckets and soaked in H2O2 between runs.

This time I switched to Canna and clay pebbles. I’ve been going 1/3 strength on the nutes and using Cannazyme. No H2O2. After seeing some slime last week I started using Hygrozome. I’ve been adding 200ml each of Cannazyme and Hygrozyme daily for the past few days after noticing the slime.

The problem is, it doesn’t seem to be helping enough. I am still seeing slime on the net pots and corner of epicenters. I blocked off the little holes on the top of the buckets so there is no light getting through to the water

Wondering if I am better off using current culture nutes and h2o2 in this system…or maybe I need more/bigger airstones?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I'm in my 4th week of flower of doing my first run in my current culture system.....I'm running their line of nutes but don't h have any problems.... instead of hydroton I am using growstone.... and did you use their UC Roots, that is what keeps your roots healthy... plus your ph is a little high from what I heard of hydro..

But of course I'm a long time soil grower, 10 years strong, first time hydro grower...

Chiller, 63 degrees and floom?

If that's not in the cards use the tea. I like subculture-b and orca liquid with a little brown sugar to cook with.

Thanks Snaps! The chillers are getting the water to 65 degrees, I can't get it any cooler. What is Floom? Sorry I am a newbie!

I have been using Canna Cannazym and Rhizotonic as well as Hygrozome, but someone said not to use both Cannazym and Hygrozyme at the same time.

It's strange because I've got two 20-site systems running next to each other. Both cleaned out the same way (with hydrogen peroxide, srcubbed, etc), both with same nutes etc. One is doing awesome (I will post pics later) but the other is the one experiencing the serious slime and it looks about a week behind the other one. My bf things the slime may have started due to a bit of roots accelerator making its way into the system through a cutting.

Has anyone had good experiences using Canna Aqua nutes in an undercurrent system? Has anyone experienced slime/build up with them? We're trying to decide whether or not to switch to UC nutes.

Thanks!!!!
