Meat in the mix

Upthearsenal
"that's disgusting, but nonetheless.

composting meat is something totally different than regular compost. there are many dangerous bacteria that can be present, as i'm sure you're aware of.

meat will produce anaerobic bacteria, which will impede on the typical, aerobic conditions you are trying to achieve.

also, keep scavengers in mind.

edit: i hope i didn't come off as a dick, composting meat is achievable, yet at that scale i would imagine it to be very difficult. try looking into bokashi composting.

fyi; anerobic bacteria cannot impeade on aerobic conditions, by deffinition Obligate anaerobes cannot survive in an oxygen enviorment. oxygen is harmful to them. What your probably thinking of is ether; Facultative anaerobes – can use oxygen when present, but can continue to grow without it through fermentation or anaerobic respiration ie E. Coli, Aerotolerant anaerobes – cannot use oxygen for growth, but tolerate it very well. ie Lactobacilli, or Microaerophiles – are aerobic and require oxygen, but in lower concentrations than that of air. Ex. – Helicobacter pylori

not trying to be a dick just trying to be informative

So I just got done trimming up the bagseed and it looks like it's going to turn out pretty good and more than I expected.

Should be good weight when fully dry, buds are nice and solid. The trichs were an even 50/50, milky/amber.:blsmoke:

I use 2.75 gal auto-watering pots.

I like using them because I don't have to have a tray to catch the water.

Will do. Glad I'll have some smoke for the new year.

I'll update with a smoke report and final weight when finished.:leaf:

2nd week of flower and you can really see all the bud sites starting to form.

The White Castle are starting to get a strong, skunky smell already.:leaf:

dam they are some beauties. i love the tight node spacing to, even when they are stretching they are staying very compact.

Thank you!

I also found the burn on the WW wasn't from the nutes but from the light.

Apparently the lighter green from the predominately Sativa phenos in the WW caused the leaves to be more sensitive to the light.

Something for me to remember next time.

I'm looking at possibly adding a UV heat lamp to the tent to increase resin and trichome production.

I have a couple I use for baby chicks so I might add one this week and have it run for a few hours during the middle of the day.

I've been doing a lot of reading about it but any insight would be awesome from anybody with experience in using UV lighting.

never used UV lighting but i have heard MH the last 2 weeks of flower helps increase resin production as well

a friend of mine used a big black black, fluro bulb style. it showed ALL the trichs on the plants in the dark and with the HPS it just turned to... well white wash of the purples and blues. he was growing some blue yum yum x WW the poor girl passed away though cause he totally didn't know what to do withme 3000 miles away. but i'd say... test on one plant? then others if you like results?

Here's the final weight of the bagseed, minus a few buds I've taken to smoke. It didn't take long to dry being that my house is so dry this time of year.

It smokes pretty smooth, a little green yet but that's to be expected.

This strain doesn't have a real strong aroma but of what it does I'd say it's like a fruity pine smell. The high isn't very strong but it lasts quite a while.
