Measuring EC of fluid in plant?

So I've been studying up on nutes because I don't have a solid grasp of everything. One thing I read said nutrient EC levels should be kept balanced, or a little lower than the EC levels in the plant. Too high ec solution will actually force nutes into a plant through osmosis, too low pulls them out. Right now I'm doing daily checks and adjusting as needed to maintain a steady EC. Is there any way to get a measurement of the plants internal EC? I was going to try blending a branch/some stems/???, then straining any fluid out through cheesecloth and getting a reading..IDK how accurate it would be and I wouldn't get much of a testing sample. I know it's not needed, just a matter of curiosity and IF there was a fairly easy way it will just be another nugget of info to use.
