How does the plant go into the flowering stage if your not switching the light schedule around?? It would just keep vegging correct? Please explain what you do so that the plant notices it is time to bloom.

Hi safety,

Apologies, I mis-read your Q and thought you were referring to switching the combination of blue/warm whites :-) Best thing to do is to get a thread of your own up and running and use it to ask questions while you wait to get started because that way you will get a better response from different growers.

Of course, to induce flowering you have to switch the light cycle from 18/6 (in my case) down to 12/12, I should have said :-)

Re you Q on nutes, I use BioBizz (see pic). The pic shows everything I have, I keep things simple... Bio grow & Bloom, Canna PK13/14 for late flowering boost, superthrive (hardly use it) bottle of PH down (essential) cheap (but accurate) narrow range PH test kit. Also Clonex & SMC. Thats it!

*******************************
DAY 7 12/12, end of week one flowering. Pistils showing all over her )mature clone). I removed my 2 cuttings yesterday, one fom low down and one main top, both only about 3" tall :-) She now has a good oveall shape with a nice 'circle' of main tops where I want them. Future LST will now only be used to maintain a level canopy through flowering....its time for take off!

Pics show the 2 clones (as yet unnamed!) and Delia before and after removing them and a light misting of the SMC.

(PLease remove large images if quoting, cheers :-) )

go to the biobizz website...idk if they are still doing it but a couple months ago they were sending out free samples of their products to anyone! i believe the website is biobizz.com
Hi SB :-) Yes, SICC sent me the link to that offer sometime back, but I already had plenty. I'm in the UK and Bio Bizz is available at pretty well most hydro stores or online. Well worth a try if you are going organic. I'm not 100% organic but I like to keep things as 'clean' as possible :-)

SICC/PBF: I have to keep on pushing these plants along to maintain my supply! can't afford the luxury of a long veg :-( ...on the upside its been many years since I last had to buy herb so I'm not complaining. I smoke most evenings although I dont smoke much more than half/.5g per day on average, maybe a g at weekend days. Keeps me happy :-)

UPDATE DAY 9 of 12/12. I'm seeing daily growth now, couple more pics taken just after lights on this am.

(Please remove large images if quoting, thanks again :-) )

Thanks again all, SB, did you get your timer issue sorted yet? is it digital or the segmented type?

Yeah I understand, i vegged for like 5 weeks this time and it was killer haha, I just found out yesterday my friend bought some growing supplies off his sisters boyfriend, so im going to get some of his cloning powder and try to get something going like you, or at least have one guaranteed female in my batch, since i will be working with my strain once i collect this pollen and my girl shows sex :weed:

Keep us posted man, i love watching :eyesmoke:

Got a quick question for you. If I'm going to use fox farm ocean forest, all I need is bio bizz bloom correct? Because that soil has nutes good for 5 weeks and I'm only vegging for 4 weeks? Did this make sense to you?

Hi CH, makes perfect sense :-) avoiding over feeding in early stages is the best way to get healthy plants and avoid so much of the damage we see here in the 'plant hospital' forum. But why not use FF nutes with that soil?

**********************************

THREAD UPDATE @ DAY 13 OF 12/12.

Fed Bio grow yesterday, will begin to add the bloom from next feed. PH 6.4.

OK, so for a touch under 2 weeks in flower I feel shes looking good? Excellent pistil development and nice shape with 9 budsights level up top and more below trying to push through. She should form nice colas now.

Decided on names for the 2 clones.... introducing 'Trinny' and 'Susannah' . :-) Pic of them in the veg /clone box. For you US guys, T&S are 2 Brit TV personalities, the kind of women who start to look very attractive when you get to my age!

The 2 cuttings have about 6 weeks before they will go into flower. No roots as yet, only been a few days.

Pics show Delia, T&S and a bit of the bud from the mother plant 'Aggie', managed to get a reasonable close up....its nice stuff to smoke.

Finally, a reminder of the Afghani roots of this lovely old strain:

Mazar-i-sharrif (100% Afghani Indica) crossed with skunk #1. ( For improved yield) = 75% Indica, F2 Hybrid. = near perfection in my book :-)

(PLease remove large images if quoting, thanks)

Lastly a pic of the real T&S !

Nice man, she looks great, cant wait till the buds start to pacc on the weight :weed:

Clones look good as well, i like how your using the water bottle for the domes, how long do they usually take to clone when put strait into soil?
I wanted to do something just like that, once i get some rooting powder from a friend. How many watts are they under?
lol sorry for the 21 questions;)

Hi sicc :-)

I just do my clones the simple way, clean angle cut, into plenty of rooting hormone (I use clonex) then intoa bit of light soil, any old 'seedling' type soil is fine. I damp the soil, put the cutting in and cover with a dome as you see. Takes on average 12-14 days to see roots but they root every time:-) I mist the leaves every day very lightly and thats about it!

One thing I do sicc is to place my clones in clear cups then inside plastic cups, this way its so easy to see when you have roots, no guesswork at all, simple :-)

I keep them under just 40 watts of CFL's, one 6500 'blue' and a 2700 warm white, does just fine. There are no fans in there, temps remain at 80 lights on, perfect for clones, on 18/6. Like I said, nothing fancy.

I have used peat plugs, perlite and root riot cubes in the past too, but plain old soil is just as good.

hey looks good man, i used dirt for my clone too. but next time i will use the clear plastic cups inside opaque cups like you did. I just put mine in the pot that she is going to live in. I didn't feel like transplanting later on.

Hi JS, the flexible plastic cups make re potting a stress free experience for young plants :-) Hows your Kush doing, any roots yet?

Few more pics today at day 15 of 12/12. Here she is with my other beautiful girl, Marcie the Golden Retriever :-)

Had a good watering yesterday, plain PH 6.4. Next time will be Bio grow + bio Bloom. After that I'll introduce the mollasses.

More pics in a few days time.
