Not really as far as I know. Some maybe wood some may be aluminum.
Use to be back in the day a silk screen t shirt shop was a good place to be friends with because such things were not readily available like they are today
Is there a difference between silk screen frames and Sift screen frames. Please explain/help. Thank you!

So it would be smart to just spend less on a silkscreen "set" vs. a soft screen set?

Probably. Idk if they make them different or better or specifically for hash. I'm sure the people selling them say theirs are better somehow. I'm just speaking of how I know it was done pre legalization.
Lots of "industrial equipment " has been repurposed re branded and re labeled as extraction tools, this could be another one

Screens can be metal cloth or silk screen. I use the metal for the first sieve and silk screen for refining.

I use a 150 micron stainless screen for the first sieve, because the raw plant material is abrasive to silkscreen.

I use 110 and 70 micron silk screens to refine the first sieve, because it has better action and stands up to kif fine. I also stretch my silk screen, and control the pore size to some degree through tension.
