MaxiBloom -- bright pink roots?

Just switched to General Hydroponics MaxiBloom in a DWC system.

Mixed the nutes up real good in a separate container before pumping it into my reservoir.

Looked at the roots about 24 hours later and I've noticed that the roots are a BRIGHT pink (the HPS light makes it hard for my camera to capture but they are very pink) right near the waterline...they are the normal white colour below this.

Tops of the plants look great. No sign of burn or stress.

Just wondering if this is normal. I'm new to these nutes.

I may try dissolving the nutes in very hot water first next res change.

I hope someone can shed some light here, very much interested in what could cause this being that I just started me a dwc grow

I know the gro has a green dye and bloom has a pink a dye in it. My guess would be that some water with the dye in it is evaporating off the roots and leaving the dye behind. Given that it looks about even with your water line, that seems logical. The bubbles will create a fine spray on your roots that evaporates easily.

Sounds about right. The plants seem happy so I'm not going to flush or anything like that. EC is stable.
