Master Kush from Nirvana...Grow cab

I live in the southern US so heat is pretty big down here. The cab I'm using I want to be fully enclosed and it's also in a closet. I eventually want to use the whole closet for growing maybe with a 400 or 600w and keep my cab as a clone box maybe. Not sure if it's even realistic though. The only way to keep temps under control at the moment is to keep the closet open and the door off the cab which obviously won't work when it flowers. If you have any advice on the exhaust setup let me know. Also I saw that thread on the 12/12 from flower plants and it looks like some people were getting some nice looking plants there. I would be happy if I pull an oz total from these two plants I have.

If you're going for a closet grow, you could mount a few oscillating fans around the closet to keep air moving. Hot air is alright as long as it's constantly in motion.

Would it possible for you to run ducting to a window from the closet?

I plan on venting the closet through the ceiling eventually. Right now I want to make sure my cab is working correctly, staying cool. I'm running two computer fans in the box and I can't put the door on it because temps skyrocket.either the computer fans just aren't enough or I don't have them set up very well.

You just gotta get air circulating its about as easy as that. Amazon has these 6" hydroponic booster fans for about 30 bucks, one of those will more than do for what you have now, also get 6" aluminum foil tubing, some duct tape, and viola! install that sucker as outtake exhausting to a window or just another room and that will take the heat out. Also I have a cool toob as you can see, that can have that same ducting hooked to it. Later on you will see me do this as I change my setup a little after this grow
 
The 6 inch inline fan seems way too big for my box. It would be ideal for venting the closet out once I put an hid in there. My problem right now though is that my box isn't venting well enough with the CPU fans. I'm thinking of using both of them as exhaust fans with a passive intake hole the problem there would be once I start to flower I would need more than 1 carbon filter.

I had a similar problem. I solved it by replacing the PC fans with a desk fan.

These things are surprisingly powerful for their size. I zip tied it to a drain plug that I found at home depot:

This fan really does the job. Might be what you're looking for.
 
Nice. That looks like a good solution. Any idea how many cfm it is? The ones I'm running now are 44 cfm each.

Honestly couldn't tell you. All I can tell you is it kicks out air like it's cool and is stronger than three pc fans combined.

Make sure to get the one that isn't USB. Should have high velocity in the description. Staples usually sells them.

Also, don't point it directly at the plants if you want to use them as an air circulator (it's really that strong) unless there's a bit of distance between them (edit: but you probably already know that lol. I learned this the hard way).

We are about 16 days into flowering and its moving along nicely

Been having to water/feed every other day theyre drinking like mad, so theyre getting fed about 3 times a week, with a flush and water every other feeding...

Ive been using the FoxFarm trio pack in combination with superthrive, and just recently molasses...

Looking good man. When you say molasses you mean actual molasses? What's the purpose of doing that, makes buds taste sweet? Do you just dissolve it in your water?

Yeah. Blackstrap molasses you dissolve it in water and mix it in with regular feeding, gotta be unsulfured too. Helps fatten buds up with the extra sugar and also helps keep potassium. Be wary though over feeding may attract bugs
 
Good stuff Psilo. I just read through your thread and yur ladiez are lookin sexy. Just a couple random things for ya to chew on ;) --> I'm smoking on some Girl Scout, OG, 3 Kings, and Sour D from the Rocky Mountains atm...smoked tons of stuff.....Master Kush is still the hardest hitting shit I've ever inhaled. Wife and I were so high we were scared to drive lol.....never happened before or after since. This stuff was white with a bit a green and from the size of your main shoots it looks as if your ladiez will have some very decent main colas on em! Never grown Nirvanas cut of it, but I have grown Nirvana gear and was very satisfied with their Bubblicious/Wonder Woman. I have some threads on RIU with pics and whatnot if you wanna check em out sometime thatd be awesome! Sub'd and ready to go man! Grow on!
 
Thanks all, yeah the fuckin stalks on the big girls are as fat as a sharpie I'm hoping to get at least a qp from all of them....that reasonable?
