hey guys this is my first deepwater culture setup. ive grown in soil before with some random miami fire seeds and it came out not-horrible, so i decided to try hydro this time.
i have a simple five gallon bucket and strainer lid. using hydroton clay pebbles for the medium. using ghetto-rigged 4 60w cfls for veg, and 430 watt hps for flower.
i transferred it from the party cup to the bucket on 11-17.
for nutes im using superthrive, liquid kharma, and pure blend pro for veg . i havent needed to adjust the pH since then either. i set it at 5.5 and it hasn't gotten to 6.0 yet. my friend said that this was because the plant is drinking the same amount of nutrients as it is water. i'm guessing that's not bad?
i do need to mix a new batch of nutes or top it off soon though. heres a few pics so u guys can tell me what i can do better cuz im a newb.
i'm not topping it but am thinking on tying it down. any tips? should i prune soon? it looks kinda weird to me like straight leaves growing any which way they can but maybe thats good?
todays pics are at 11-29-08 at like midnight and at EXACTLy 2 weeks in the bucket. these are the last four pictures. the first 3 pics are from day 1. the 4th n 5th pics from day 6 and 7.
