ok so im designing my dream system that i will build hopefully in a few years. it will consiste of 60 55 gallon plastic drums buried underground with approximately 53 gallons of water in each drum and i want to drain and fill once a week with new water and solution. only problem is thats is 3180 gallons of water a week....i have found 275 gallon res' for sale that i will be buying but im curious about how i can go about purifying the water so that it is reusable. any ideas on this? i basically want it so i can recycle water or im going to have a massive ass water bill each month that would ruin me financially lol

PS any ideas on how to make nutes that will cover 3180 gallons of water that i could make at home?

Are you just assuming that the water bill is going to kill you? Have you actually thought about it and priced it out? A family of 4 *clean* people consume roughly that amount each month just in showers. I know you said each week but still...

atm yes i am assuming it would kill me. ive been pricing out everything so far and for the prices ive found not including co2 injection for winter time, heating or anything like that im looking at around 10.5k. I found a machine for reverse osmosis that would help out with the water so that i can just reuse the old water after its been cleaned and scrubbed. its going to cost $3700 for the machine (not sure whatelse i will need for it) i just barely started looking into it.

Sounds like a big farm, but in a municipal water? In a city?......

Sounds cheap for a commercial ro unit. Also they are generally 4:1 or 3:1 waste water. I don't know about the commercial units.

I know your just brainstorming, but you ever grow a plant in a 55 gallon drum? I've seen mega trees, never saw anyone use that large of a tank. Sure bigger can be be better, but at what point is it overkill. Sounds like you spent too much time on thcfarmer.

i would be out in the country with it i plan on buying a plot of land for this. im not sure what i would be doing exactly just yet. im thinking about trying just 1 in a 55 gallon and see where its at at harvest so i can gauge how big of a area it would be or if i need to downsize from that.

true but i wouldnt need a chiller for the water. i think it might pay itself off in the end
Easier ways to skin that cat. Remember that is not just the drums you'll need to bury but the connecting lines, too.

Instead, consider using an evap cooler and insulation on tubs sitting on the ground.
