Mars Hydro TS1000 & Mars Hydro Tent Unboxed & heat tested! Myth? Hmmmmm

I been hearing Mars Hydro's name out there for years.. but just recently I looked into their newer lights.
After looking into their New LED boards I wanted to play with one of their set ups.. plus I kinda wanted
some of the cool stickers their gear comes with lol.
I didn't just want any light tho. I wanted one I've heard mixed reviews on. I just want to know for myself if
there were really issues. Reading the specs it seems like with 150w in the right tent it will serve up some justice
for a budget grow.

Comes with the usual. Ratchet rope set, daisy chain wiring, a set of hangers, power cord & user manual. IMG_5589.JPG

Info says that up to 20 lights can be connected together.

One of the 1st things I checked was the board itself. I notices the board had a funky pattern in the diodes. I took a look closer and seen the
diodes are following a pattern on the board. You can see it better at an angle.

Another thing that I noticed without going into the owners manual that I can remove the driver and dimmer box off of the light itself.
(Mars is getting extra points at this point) #MarshydroTS1000
This is a fairly new feature, but when I looked into it... it's not new. The driver has always been removable.
This can help so much with the heat theories I heard previously. It's one of the reasons why I picked it up.
I wanted to know 1st hand, I'm always down for a challenge.

The Power wire going from the driver to the light is looking about 6-8 ft long. Definitely something that's going to help me run this badboy, and
not be worried about temps.

On to the Mars Hydro 2.5ftx2.5ftx5ft #Growtent

My fav diamond mylar inside, 3x 6" ports for ducting/fans, and a 3" port for running wires.
All ports have the double tie to lock out light. Speaking of..
Light leak test passed. I got inside the tent myself and had an assistant go around the tent with the TS1000 50% power. 75w of LED seemed
sufficient for a leak test. All was darker than night. Now I can move along in confidence. Tired of the old tent stressing me out.

Vents on all 3 sides of the tent, and a window which I wish my other tent has.

It came with 5 patches and a pair of filter straps, which can also be used to battle negative pressure. I will most likely show that or another
method of holding back those walls from pushing up against your love nuggets. :weed:

Tent is up, and light is in.. notice I removed the driver and dimmer box. I used my rolling try laid upside down on the roof of the tent
basically as a heatsink which I will be screwing the driver to. lol screw the driver

Sat her at 18" and let her rip.

I have to admit it's brighter than my sf2000 with 60w less of a draw, but the TS1000 isn't made for that tent. It's said to be
capable of Veg in a 4x4, and flower in 3x3. #sunlightspectrum Indeed. I kid you not.. I didn't turn the room light off to take this pic.
The brightness literally cancelled out everything shiny outside the tent.

After I set the tent up and turned the light on inside, I decided to zip it up again and check outside for leaks in the dark.
The zipper needed to be adjusted but after I fixed the flap there was total darkness in the room.

Then I grabbed my Hygrometers and commenced with the heat test. I placed one inside the tent on the floor in the corner, I placed another probe hanging in the tent mid distance to the light from the floor. I left the light on full power with all ports sealed, and zipped up for over an hour.
No extraction fans, intake fans. No air flow at all, and I like what I see.
Temp in the tent went up to 85.5F, The probe read less at 78.3F. Last time I checked for LED those temps were perfect. I urge anyone who has this light or the TS600 which is similar to remove the driver and mount outside the tent to get better usage without problems. IMG_5618.JPGIMG_5620.JPG
Disclaimer: The time isn't correct on either hygrometer. I don't use them for the clock. lol

I will be tossing a little seedling in here soon. Strain is Glueberry Muffins. Tune in.
