Mars use less efficient epistar diodes and cheap drivers on their ts and sp series, spider farmer and many others use the more efficient lm301b or h diodes and have meanwell drivers. For a cheap qb I’m liking the bloomspect ss1000, $69 on amazon right now. Meanwell drivers, Samsung lm301b and an 1/8 or 3mm heat sink. Just my 2cents, oh and I’ve had 8 ts1000 drivers fry on me in the last 6 months.

I own 2 they beat hlg s bs prices, might wanna check the sp3000. So much trash talk here check Shane from migro and his reviews you arm chair engineers. I swear there are so many wannabes on this forum who probably have even grown lawn seed let alone weed

Well they are quite abit cheeper. Watt for watt was you getting less yield tho or something. Why dont you put the fc series which is more around the price of hgl as a comparison

I've got a couple of leds one has cracking heat sink but runs hotter than the mars, a thick heat sink just isn't necessary, a slege hammer for a nail :-)

For what they are, compared to HLG, mars hydro is not that good..... tin foil vs metal IMO

The sp series have huge thick high quality heatsinks with realy long fins, you cant exactly call those tin foil. The heatsinks on those are way larger than most companies who do bar style lights. The heatsink on there new model of the sp light made for greenhouses and comercial use are really huge. Even something like the ts series are very good. Ive know someone to use a ts1000 and get huge yields in a 2x2.
