Your reasons to keep it illegal are inconsistent with reality, and no, 'decriminalized' does not mean legal and would face the same issues if it were illegal. Inflated prices, fines and citations, and only for medicinal, not recreational use. Not to mention the potential criminal aspect that comes with that.
The only people who want to keep it illegal are the people who make money off it being illegal, drug cartels, the private prison industry, etc. The majority of law enforcement agencies, medical professionals, and the majority of most Americans want it to be 100% legal.

News flash, legalization wiill NOT force you to pay big brother to smoke it, or grow it, etc. The absolute worst case scenario that is even possible is that the option is offered to you and you choose to go black market (which will still exist - what you think the black market is going to disappear once it's "legal"?
