Marijuana supporters. Why are we being shunned from both major parties?

Everyone has a party to look up to and vote for when their interest is under attack.

Immigrants have the Democrats
Gun owners have the Republicans
Gay people have the Democrats
Business owners have the Republicans
Environmentalists have the Democrats
Religious evangelical Christians have the Republicans
Labor Unions have the Democrats
Cigar smokers/Tobacco lovers have the Republicans
Blacks/Jews/Atheists/Muslims have the Democrats
The Military has the Republicans
Hollywood has the Democrats
Anti abortion people have the Republicans
Pro abortion people have the Democrats
Farmers have the Republicans



EVERYBODY is part of a team but you. Everybody is part of a coalition but you. Everybody has a gang on their side but you. When is this going to change??? What is it going to take for one of the two major parties to cater to pot smokers like they do with everyone else? It sucks that you have no one on your side fighting for you.

    I am a political deviate.. I pay attention daily to this shit.. I hunt for it, it is my life..
    At this juncture in our history, BOTH parties are (in my estimation) coming to the relization the talking shit about grass can lead to political suicide.

    IN fact as much as I despise so many of the Tea Party libertarian types (sue me), the ones not attached to the religious right still (about 50/50) are STRONG supporters of cannabis reform..

    On this issue, I wont fault you for being Republican or Democrat, the party lines are becoming rapidly blurred..

    MIGHT have something to do with more GOP reps getting busted with grass than Dems lately.. heh

both sides know their claims are 100% Grade A Bullshit, but both sides use the same pile of Bullshit to justify their own agenda.

I think your list of who has who is inaccurate, to put it mildly. But that aside, the reason neither party will make an official platform change is because there is just too much money in it being illegal. Everyone here already knows this. Private prisons, law enforcement, Big Chemical, Big Pharma among countless others just have too much money invested in cannabis being illegal. In some alternate universe where money doesn't decide policy, cannabis is totally legal in all its forms.

The reason the counter culture is being shunned is that it is COUNTER CULTURE. It is un-Amercian by very definition. And since the Counter Culture has always been willing to lie for agenda, it is something to be feared and opposed, not aligned with.
