Hey friends, I was at home depot and seen bags of compost with manure. I thought it couldn't hurt to try since its been used in our gardens forever.. I mixed it with miracle grow, and some other organic soil they had. it looks like dang good soil so i'm hoping it works well.
Anybody ever use manure in their soil before? Straw Kush 1.jpg

Yeah, I use COMPOSTED horse manure with a little bit of chicken manure thrown in. The important part is COMPOSTED manure. It's not quite so "hot", and is in a form more easily used by your plants.

I think that you are really looking for a "super soil" recipe. Subcool seems to be the authority on that, so a quick search will give you that info.

Oops... Well So far this little lady seems to love it. I have heard MG is bad but i've never heard why. Is it the wrong blend of neuts or something?
Idk if they all have it, but most MG soil has slow release fertilizers mixed in that you have no control over, some that feed for up to 3 months, so it can still be providing a lot of nutrients towards the end of flower when you don't want it, depending when they got potted in it. They can cause issues depending on how you water, keep the soil too wet and these nutes dissolve quicker raising nutrient levels. Also, you can get nute burn easier if you try feeding with other fertilizer.

I want to say Scotts came out years ago saying MG wasn't a good soil for MJ.

The biggest problem with MG is the salts they use as a delivery system for the nutes. Over time the salts can build up and cause problems. I will use a one time shot of MG if a plant is having deficiency problems I can't diagnose.

Back in the day, when I used manure composts for economic rather than ecological reasons, I learned a coffee can of chicken shit is the same as 5 gallons of cow shit. Use accordingly.

I think elephants prefer shitting on the road. Try driving in Botswana. its just elephant turds everywhere on the road.
