Who is to say the stash of bud in your house is not next after the plants? It is called dictating the situation, I would not give a damn how big or old the man is. a 38special > criminal. If my verbal warning that include the words gun, dead, motherfker, leave.. .do not persuade them to run off & instead approach you. Oh Nos !

Are you willing to risk your Life when you go out there and one of his homies blows you away becuase you are focusing on the stealer and not the Look out?

Only so many way into the house If you are aware of his position You know what door/window he will try to make entry
You have the drop on him.

You have cover, concealment and the element of surprise

Call the cops, cover your six and if he decide to come in. Drop him.

its the cops job outside the house
its yours inside it

depends on the State you are in, but if the crime is outside your home...then you best to call the police...If the crime is inside your home...bye bye fucking thief....hell if they out side I would just let my dogs out on him..I think that would stop his habit of taking without asking
and people are saying he was a coward for hiding behind his gun... ur a coward for hiding behind ur dogs. my dogs are simply an alarm and i wouldnt risk my dogs life by letting them out. thats exploiting the loyalty of man's best friend. i know people who steal plants all the time and they wouldnt hesitate to stab or shoot a dog that got in their way. the guy was obviously desperate and desperate people do crazy things. id much rather be the one to go outside and confront him than risk the lives of my dogs or any person in my house. the whole waiting til he comes inside shit is stupid... thats like fucking without a condom and then goin to get treatment for aids once u got it, better of just wrapping it up. cuz i dont like ur chances once hes in the house. id do anything in my power to keep the fight outside where my family members are not. but u liberals can live ur lives like cowards if u want thats ur choice, just not how imma live mine.

I would like to know if those against the whole confronting outside thing are gun owners.
&/or Actively interested in guns?

If someone is in your yard, messing shyt up like uprooting plants, causing dmg to irrigation & such.. Why on Earth would a Gun owner sit & wait inside looking out the window... That is something I would tell my girlfriend todo.

All you who think that defeding your property is calling 911,need to rethink your strategy. The cops don't just drop in right when you call. Some places it takes at least 30- min. for the cop/sherrif to get there. You must protect your property,no matter what the cost.I'll tell you what, come on my property un announced!! I'll give you a warning shot, and some words. If that doesn't sway you,the next shot will.....

I taught hunter's safety for years. I've go deer hunting with guns and bows depending on the season. I have several guns. I even have a couple of muzzle loaders. I would not confront an intruder on my property with a gun unless he tries to enter my home. Period. I would never use deadly force unless I knew that either my life or the life of my family were in danger. That's called responsible gun ownership.

Regardless of where on my property i confront someone i have the right to arm myself and will do so. Just because i have it doesn't mean he needs to know i have it. But leave the cover/protection of my home unarmed? No.

You have to check your local laws some states consider in the yard good enough some will put you behind bars.

thats not responsable gun ownership, thats your opinion... i too hunt with an assortment of weapons n consider myself a very responsable gun owner. i use my weapons not only to put meat on the table, but for recreation, and to protect whats mine. i feel it is my responsability to use said weapons to defend n protect what is mine, wheather its inside or outside the confines of my home. i would hate to take another mans life but under the right cercumstances i would not hesitate. im not condoning shooting without warning but before i let said perp know i was there i would have him dead in the crosshares. his reaction would determine the outcome.

No one said anything about the right to arm yourself. That's not the issue here. The issue is when is it necessary to end a human life. Do you really believe that pulling weeds is grounds for losing your life? Really? It's a weed. A plant. Nothing more, nothing less. Would you advocate murdering someone for pulling dandelions from your lawn. You all seem to be stuck on the value of Cannabis. But is it really MORE valuable than a human life? You can grow another weed. It's a weed. It's possible. But unless you're Jesus Christ you cannot bring back a life. Call the cops. Let them do their job. If the intruder enters your home with intent to harm then send him to Hell. What everyone keeps losing sight of is what is right and what is wrong. It shouldn't be any different if it was weed or a watermelon.

I used to raid gardens in my youth. It was a common occurrence. Everyone did it. It was fun and a little dangerous. Everyone knew old man Thomas kept a shotgun full of birdshot by his front door. But, what if he felt the way you all do about weed? Would it be o.k. for him to take a human life over a cucumber or melon? Should I die for an ear of corn?

It's just common sense folks.

I can tell ya this much, if you died over an ear of corn, no one else would steal Mr. Thomas corn again. If every one knew Mr. Thomas had a loaded shotgun and would shoot you in them head for stealing his corn, no one would do it would they??

Why do you think i didn't fire? Someone was in my yard and while i had a good idea of why, their tenacity was as of yet unknown. They drove off. i walked away.

yeah I want to see you stab or shoot both of my dogs... If the guy was that much of a badass he would use his talents for something more then jacking weed plants...I have 3 dogs , a Boerboel, Rottweiler and a min pin (lol)...now the first two will eat your asshole out and spit your balls in your mouth before you can even say "all shit"..The Min Pin will just bark and jump around..,thats the family dog...I would not let him out...I LOVE my dogs, but they are for protection..The Min Pin alerts and the other two fucks you...so yeah bring your fucking knife and see where that gets you..Pray that you don't have a hand full of weed as they jump your ass..I would not risk my freedom killing some damn fool OUTSIDE my house..now if you inside your ass is gone...I use to have two pitts, but gave one to my brother and the other snapped at the wife, so she got sold...Dogs are a big part of my family, but they still have a place..Dogs..ME..Wife..Kids in order of who steps in danger

Old man Thomas would be in prison for murder and his land would belong to my family after the civil law suit.

Just what you need.. an unlimited supply of Corn Stalks.. Next best thing would be to get shot by a banana farmer eh? :D
Pretty sure Carne would rather be just winged by the Cock farmer. Cocks everywhere. Ramming into things nonstop, all day.
