A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary for allegedly trying to break in to a St. Louis County home along with a teenager who was fatally shot by an 11-year-old inside the home on Thursday, police said.

Stevieon Jackson, 22, who lives on the same block as the home where the break-in and shooting occurred around 2:20 p.m. Thursday (3:20 p.m. ET), was arrested shortly after the incident on Hallwood Drive, police said.

The 16-year-old who entered the home through the front door and was shot in the head and killed was identified Friday as Lamonte Streeter.

The gun was purchased by the 11-year-old's mother because she had been targeted by burglaries in the past several years, and she obtained the weapon to protect herself, police said.

Yay!!!!!!!!!! What a brave and honorable young man. The gift of justice just keeps on giving......

Lamonte, eh? He wouldn't be related to Tyrone that just robbed that east side Detroit 7-Eleven?

Story time everyone!

"I'm not racist! I'm not racist!" Uncle Ben cried to RIU.
"Yes you are!" Those with brains said back.

"You're all PC libtards and I'm not racist, prove it!" Uncle Ben cried to RIU thinking himself mighty superior to them all, yet he proved himself a racist, for if he knew the name Lamonte, he would know it's a Scottish surname which was derived from the Old Norse given name Logmaðr meaning "law man," yet he assumed right off the bat it was a black man, because you know only black people commit crimes in his little feeble mind.

Are you writing a screenplay for Al Sharpton?

Slow down cowboy. While you clearly started your day looking for a story where a kid kills one of those evil brown people you're so terrified of, it doesn't seem to be quite so simple.

New account of shooting contradicts home invasion story

At least one neighbor, however, offered a different account of the shooting, telling CNN affiliate KMOV that the boys were arguing on the front porch before the younger child pulled out a gun and shot the teenager.

“They were just arguing loud, you know, back and forth,” the woman said.

“He was always was just sitting right there on the porch,” she said. “He never did once go inside the house.”

Another neighbor, Jazmyne Clark, told reporters the 11-year-old was the cause of the trouble. She says he’d burglarized their home more than once, and was brandishing the gun Wednesday and Thursday before the shooting.

Neighbors are disputing the story the 11-year-old told police. According to witnesses, there was no attempted forced entry. The older boy was gunned down, execution style, as the pair spoke near the front door. The name of the younger boy was not released.

Donna Jackson, 45, said she saw the 11-year-old shoot Lamonte at point-blank range as the pair were talking near the front door with one another. “It was not a break-in,” Jackson insisted. “He shot him in the head. There wasn’t a reason why it happened like it happened. It was really sad.”

Fellow neighbor Jazmyne Clark, 18, said she saw the 11-year-old motion for Lamonte to approach him. When he reached the entranceway to the front door, the younger boy raised the gun and shot him in the head.

Another neighbor, 25-year-old Anna Carvin, said the 11-year-old is a known aggressor who had busted into her home on a previous occasion in order to steal cellphones. Clark agreed, saying she had seen the boy “waving a gun around” earlier in the day, and that the pre-teen was a troublemaker. “This kind of thing was bound to happen eventually,” she said.

Maybe tomorrow you can find something to celebrate other than children shooting children.

Found some more information on this too.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/witnesses-st-louis-teen-shot-by-11-year-old-was-selling-a-phone/

"ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis County Police said there is evidence to indicate that 16-year-old Lamonte Streeter was inside the home of an 11-year-old when he was fatally shot in the head by the younger boy.

According to CBS St. Louis, Streeter's older sister says he was selling his phone to the 11-year-old, and another witness says he may have been invited in by the younger boy....

Furthermore, Streeter's older sister, Katrice Lashay, 20, claims her brother had gone to the home last week to sell the younger boy a cellphone, reports the station."

In January 2014, CBS News reported on an Annals of Internal Medicine study which suggested that guns in the home greatly increases the chances of “unnatural death.” Dr. David Hemenway of the Harvard School of Public Health called the evidence in the study “overwhelming” saying:

Bringing a gun into the home substantially increases the risk for suicide for all family members and the risk for women being murdered in the home.

Evidence not included in their review also indicates that a gun in the home increases the risk for homicide victimization for others in society. This increased risk may be due to someone in the family shooting others (for example, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting) or the gun being stolen and used by criminals. Obtaining a firearm not only endangers those living in the home but also imposes substantial costs on the community.

Saw this on the news tonight.
These girls went through hell.

DAVIS COUNTY, Utah –- Two sisters are recovering physically and emotionally after a violent encounter with a burglar who attempted to kill them and was eventually shot by a Salt Lake City police officer in their home.

It started when Bre Lasley, 27, heard a clatter at her bedroom window.

“He whispered and said, 'I'm going to kill you,'” Bre Lasley said. “I heard a voice and he just said, 'hey girl, I’m coming in your room.'”

She rushed to her phone to call 911 but the man, 48-year-old Robert Berger, attacked.

She rushed to her phone to call 911 but the man, 48-year-old Robert Berger, attacked.

“He put his left arm over my mouth and started punching me in the stomach and he said, 'you cooperate with me or I'm going downstairs to get your little sister,'" Bre Lasley said.

Bre Lasley was trying to scream when her younger sister heard the struggle.

“I had run up the stairs and we were in the kitchen, kind of trying to fight him off I guess,” said 21-year-old Kayli Lasley.

Kayli Lasley said the intruder kicked her down the stairs and her head crashed through the wall. Berger went to push her older sister down down as well, but Bre Lasley dragged him down with her.

“We were punching him and fighting as much as we could and he was doing the same to us,” Bre Lasley said.

The man then went after Kayli Lasley.

“I could see him strangling her up against the wall and that's when I knew I had to act," Bre Lasley said.

The 27-year-old tackled Berger but he started beating her. Kayli Lasley rushed to get help.

“As I’m running up the stairs I hear her saying, 'he's stabbing me, he's stabbing me,'” Kayli Lasley said.

Berger drove a knife into Bre Lasley's stomach and leg several times.

“He was kneeling on top of me and he was kneeling on both of my arms and he pulled his knife up and he told me he was going to kill me,” Bre Lasley said.

Then she heard someone coming down the stairs.

“That's when I saw the officer and he was our angel," Bre Lasley said through tears. "I looked at the officer and his eyes and he was so professional and calm and I said, 'officer, he's going to kill me!'"

Kayli Lasley said the officer warned the suspect three times to put down the knife but he refused.

“I felt the suspect tighten as if he's going to cut me and that's when the officer took his life and saved mine," Bre Lasley said.

The sisters say the officer fired a single shot at Berger, hitting him in the head.

The police officer was already in the area because, authorities say, Berger attempted to break into another home just a few doors down from the Lasleys. The family forced Berger out and called 911.

The responding officer is on administrative leave while the Unified Police Department completes its investigation.

Bre and Kayli Lasley are staying with their parents in Davis County to recover physically and emotionally from the incident.

Officers said Berger had a criminal history dating back to 1986 and most recently was arrested for aggravated robbery and attempted theft.

He was paroled Sept. 15 and was considered a fugitive with an active warrant.

Another dead black man.

Another dead black man.

Oh boy, time to bring out the big guns.

Though the United States was founded as a slave nation, with the subjugation of African Americans written into our constitution, and though our history brims with centuries of repulsive acts of viciousness perpetrated by whites against millions of African Americans, no white-as-criminal trope ever took hold. This can only be attributed to the triumph of propaganda over reality.

What about more recently? Most of us see our history of slavery, Jim Crow, and lynchings as shameful and repellent, yet still believe the black-as-criminal attitude is justified based on current crime fears. Is it?

It depends on what we choose to fear. How about serial killers? What criminal is more terrifying than a madman killing again and again, escaping the law? America’s most notorious serial killers, striking fear as their body counts mount, have almost always turned out to be white, and gruesome beyond imagining. Albert DeSalvo, the Boston Strangler, terrorized his city in the 1960s, sexually assaulting and murdering thirteen women. David Berkowitz, New York City’s “son of Sam,” killed six and wounded seven in the late 1970s, terrifying the city until his apprehension.Ted Bundy, who called himself “the most coldhearted son of a bitch you’ll ever meet,” confessed to thirty murders in the 1970s. He was on the loose, killing women in Washington, Idaho, Utah, and Colorado for years before he was apprehended. Chicago serial killer John Wayne Gacy, who dressed as a clown and performed at children’s hospitals, murdered thirty-three teenaged boys and young men in the 1970s, burying twenty-seven in the crawl space under his house. He described his sexual release in committing murder as “the ultimate thrill.” Gary Ridgeway, Washington State’s Green River Killer, was convicted of killing forty-eight girls and young women but admitted to ninety murders during the 1980s and 1990s. He returned to the corpses he left along the river to have sexual intercourse with them. Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, killed three and terrorized many others, sending mail bombs with his anti-technology screeds to universities and airports for seventeen years, until 1995. Jeffrey Dahmer, the Milwaukee Cannibal, raped, murdered, and dismembered seventeen men and boys over thirteen years, until 1991. Dennis Rader, known as BTK for his signature “bind, torture, and kill” modus operandi, killed ten in Wichita, Kansas and was on the loose for decades until his 2005 apprehension.

Though each of these men was white, striking again and again in towns and cities across the United States, garnering intense media coverage of their crimes and captures, no fear of white men emerged. Their murders were considered individual acts for which they alone were responsible.

Prominent American organized crime families have long been run by white men like John Gotti, widely reputed to be responsible for at least thirty murders, including executions he ordered of members of his own crime family who he suspected of being informants. James “Whitey” Bulger killed at least eleven of his organized crime associates and did not face justice until he was 84 years old. He was sentenced to life in prison in late 2013. The judge sentencing him pronounced “the scope, callousness, and depravity of [his] crimes are almost unfathomable.” Yet none of us looks at white men with concern that they are mob bosses.

I'm thinking every time I see a white kid wearing a trench coat enter into a school I should be scared he's going to shoot it up. Or every time a white person goes into a movie theater with something under his jacket I should call the cops in case he shoots it up.

You're racist!

No you're racist!

America, shut the fuck up.

What I'm trying to get at is that race doesn't really have anything to do with it. There's terrible people of all races, all nationalities, both genders.
Exactly, so maybe if ya'll stopped looking at the colour of the skin and just reported the facts, there wouldn't be an issue.

So past acts justify racism against whites, but not against blacks? Your position seems inconsistent.

I think folks here are a justtttttttt a "little" hung up on this hatred ruse scripted under the disguise of "racism" here at RIU. So, the more you bait them, the more fun it can be.....to a point and then it becomes just another boring day at Troll-It- Up.

yawn...... :hump:

My question would be to all these neighbors..an 11 year old kid is waving a gun around and you say n do nothing?

Waving a flag around? Really? Were the neighbors in the house at the time?

Next you might make something up like, "yeah, and it had a confederate tied to the barrel, I seen it!"

Right, about as credible as the "hands up don't shoot" lie with all the lemmings marching in the streets chanting that crap, holding up their black tattooed arms. Even Eric Holder said it was a lie after a thorough investigation. Doesn't matter, those thugs are as bigoted and full of hate as it comes and no amount of logic or reason will change their twisted minds and character.
