Male Pollen

Hi Guys,

I have just growing Greenhouse Seed Co K-Train and they
hermied on me at around week 7 of flowering. I only had
3 plants so I let them go all the way & harvested at week 9.5.

Most large buds only have 3-4 seeds, so although disapointing
all was not lost :~)

I am planning another go shortly so have disinfected my
tent for fear of male pollen but am wondering do hermied buds
(when chopped and cured for 6-7 weeks) still contain male pollen?

ie: Could I transfer pollen to my new girls after I had handled
hermied bud?

Tks

that might be true, i just cut down a hermie plant at 7 weeks and the male flowers weren't producing any pollen and looked very pale and bleached out. But I wouldnt take that as confirmation of fact.

Thanks guys...

I grew females but something happened :-(

k-train was a new strain when I got the
seeds but after reading a few reviews a month
or so later they all said that k-train had a
tenency to hermie...

People keep pollen for up to 6 months
in containers so i just wondered if any male
pollen which was on my buds would still be
able to change a female if it got in contact.

In theory it would as there is no difference
in keeping pure pollen in an airtight jar and
curing your buds in an air tight jar?!?

Pollen will be fine in a film canester when kept in the freezer (with no plant debree<as that leads to mold) for a few months. Do nott collect hermie pollen,it will lead to hermies down the road.....to find a "true female" stress plants like crazy 12/24/12/6/3/1/4 etc untill the ones with hermie genes show doodness, the ones that dont show any signs of doodness after 2 weeks of doing this will likely be 100% female!

Late "naners"arent as dangerous but can be plucked by hand from budding fem as to be more worry free
Hope this helped
