They can't pollinate before flowering, but the pollen can stick around until they start to flower. If you suspect pollen has been released into the grow area, you will need to scrub down the walls with diluted bleach and put an ionized filter fan in the room to collect the particles left over.
Can you post a pic of what it looks like what with male flowers opened?
It's been on 18/16 and 16/8 pretty much the whole time for a month and a half (except for a couple days where I forgot to turn on/off the lights cause I was at a party or something) so I don't see how it could've been flowering...
