Okay so ive had my plant growing for a good 3 months now, and i just found out its a male about 2-3 weeks ago, but ive decided to not chop it down and keep it. I want to save the seeds that it gives me to create a grow operation for next grow season, but i have no expierienc at all with male plants...so i need help, how should i go about collecting seeds off of it, and when will i know that the seeds are ready to be de-tached from the plant? please help!

yes and no, for breeding purposes yes its useless unless u have a girl which you dont(or maybe you could save the pollen for next year but i dont play with males so i dunno how and if it will keep that long) you can still make cannabutter out of it later.

fuck hah..so that plant is useless...its a beaut though
dude, what i would do, is let the male grow . let the pollen sacks open, and collect as much of the pollen as you can.
I use a film container or ever a small ziplock bag. SAVE THE POLLEN !!! you can put it in the freezer .
Then, when you get a female you can use a small paint brush to apply a VERY small amount of the pollen to ONE bud.
Try to put it on the lowest bud on the plant, that way you don't risk dropping pollen on other buds.
this will give you about 6 to a dozen seeds, depending on the size of the bud, and the amount of pollen added.
THATS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO !!!
but like the others before me stated, YES, you must have a female to get seeds.

good luck.

not to derail this gem of a thread, but years ago I had a female that produced 2 seeds ( which both germinated) what could explain this? Hermie or did someone else around me have a male?

hermie, if you had another male around it woulda pollinated more than that but then again it coulda been a male quite a long way away. pollen can travel for miles
