Can't say i ever did. All my momma's cookie recipes came from over the pond. cn

...What is that Canna? And is there a small bug on it?

It's a Nußkipferl (nut crescent) and that fly, while a bit rude, can be excused for attempting suicide by ambrosia.
Needles to say ... i didn't notice it while finding the pic. So as penance, allow me to provide a pic of a different delicacy.
These are Vanillekipferl, basically ground hazelnut cunningly bound with a minimum if flour, sugar and great gobs of (unsalted!) butter. These labor-intensive gems were momma's pièce de résistance come Christmas season. Those, a stolen demi-bottle of champagne, and some weed made for a no-regrets evening when I was 16. cn
